Media Jose Aldo responds to criticism regarding the matchmaking of fights in his final UFC run

Except the "old legends" like Cruz and cejudo were also higher ranked than the guys aldo fought like Jonathan martinez, bautista, and zahabi......so they would have been more efficient opponents for getting him to a title fight

I wouldn't put too much thought into the possible Aldo vs Cruz fight in recent years, Cruz was unable to get through a fight camp for a long time before he eventually retired.

Even if they booked it instead of the Martinez / Bautista fights, it's pretty unlikely Cruz would've even made it to the cage.

Aldo is a recognizable name but I wouldn't necessarily consider him a big draw at this point in his career.
Also, he doesn't speak English which would have put all the weight of promoting a bigger fight on his opponent.
Zahabi seemed like a decent fit to me and hats off to Jose for managing to win it.

UFC probably told him he's not getting a title with a Cruz win and has to beat one of the tough new guys to get one. Still sucks for fans.

Definitely wish he got the nod in the decisions he lost at BW, but he did seem awfully complacent in his last few outings unfortunately.

You got to be a real pos to hate on Aldo

Or you don't like someone who signs on for a BW fight, decides to just make FW instead without telling his opponent who then goes on to make BW and then accepts the fight with you anyway.

That's a real pos move.

Whatever, he should had gotten the Dom Cruz or Triple C fights, the UFC was either mad at him or knew he was fighting out his contract.

UFC tends to overrate old timers. It sounds like Aldo wanted to face the new generation.

Aldo's team informed the UFC who in turn informed Zahabi and his team

But i know you just hate Aldo for whatever reason. Your avatar is pretty fitting for your attitude.

Nice to know.
I can respect that decision even though I would prefer different matchups.
Nice to see the GOATlator at it again. I'm wondering if he remember that reply from Aldo, looked like it. Dude is a savage translator. I really enjoy watching his swag translations and the way he passionately translates the emotions as well during post fight interviews.
I would honestly be more bummed out if he were to leave the UFC translators cast than a lot of the fighters that are currently on the roster.

If Aldo looked fucked just making 143, then he knew all week he wasn't making BW. He should have done the right thing from the start and just asked Zahabi if he was fine with FW instead. Like, don't wait until the weigh ins to see what your opponent is going to do. Be respectful and do the right thing from the start, when he knew BW was never going to happen.

And I don't just hate Aldo for "whatever reason". I literally told you what I didn't like about how he handled himself in all this. Outside of that, I've always been a fan.

And what does my Mizuki Inoue avatar have to do with anything? lol
