Jorge Gurgel's black belt

^
Yeah, he runs around like a madman trying to coach everybody. You just see Jorge running across the mats and then asking someone "Ok, which one is our guy?"

I'm glad the only spot I'm in that highlight is the very end.

Halifax nova scotia ia have been thinking of goinga nd checking it out to up my judo groundwork .

I heard they only let you work with beginners when you start( which i understand and respect) but id rather work with higher belts to learn more but i think you have to have a 1 stripe or higher to work with more experienced people .

Iam a blue belt in judo and my club is 50/50 for standup/ground work .

This is the club where I train. PM me with any questions if you like.

War Gurgel VS. Serra, winner vs. Florian.

Is there any BJJ competition footage of Gurgel? Does he have any big tournament wins? I am also suspect on his black belt. Then again he just might suck that bad as a fighter, hehe.

Since it has already been said that Gurgel is an Aurelio black belt, I think to question his black belt questions the judgment of Marcus Aurelio. I don't question the skills or judgment of Marcus Aurelio.

I also wouldn't overlook the skills of his students when judging his jiu jitsu skills.

Like I said in a post before, I was never a fan of Gurgel the fighter but this video made me a fan of the person, he seems like a great and caring teacher who looks out for his students best interests.

6 Time Brazilian State Champion
NAGA SuperFight Champion
Absolute Combat Challenge Light Weight Champion

man wtf happened to the OT?

And yes it seems he is one of those guys that just cannot translate his bjj into MMA.

I think he can but he choses not to to cater to ultimate boxing fans and Dana "I say fvck all the time so I gotta be cool" White

so much wasted potential in the UFC I hate it

I think Jorge's problem is that he does try to cater to the people who just want to see stand-up fights.

Anyone know anything about what level Jorge Gurgel won his 6 time brazilian titles?

No idea.

But from what i read, Jorge pretty much run his own club since he was blue belt.

He was not spoon fed or grew up under a BB instructor or within a famous team to care and nurture him to BB.

He is more into MMA fighting but read that he is a very technical instructor when he comes to BJJ.

lol, I for some reason thought this was about Fabio Gurgel, and almost WTF'd all up in this thread.

yeah someone said earlier that jorge gurgel's mind was blown at the rickson invisible jj seminar, hahaha, of course his mind would be blown, duh, the cool thing is fabio said it

I've trained with Jorge. I was much bigger than him but he handled me. He is definitely a legit black belt.

Be more specific- how many years you train and what belt were you then? Was he a top or bottom guy?
