I was browsing through fight pass, and rewatched his fight with Alves. Was thoroughly impressed from what I saw, he was dominating Alves up until the body kick.

Looked at few more fights, where he KOed Mike Pyle, Dan Miller, and Cyborg and put up a great fight against Woodley (which he arguably won imo, Woodley did not even want to stand with him and got bloodied up.)

Waiting to see when this kid fights next...NOTICED he retired @ 25 WTF...??!?! Just wow...

Was there any reason for his retirement? I mean the kid wasn't like TJ Waldburger who lacked skills and was getting his head bounced on the canvas in every fight. He was hanging in there with top competition. The kid had amazing potential and skills. His two losses in the UFC came from body shots where he was dominating his opponent earlier.

    Truly sad...

He had A LOT of fights for a young guy. It probably just wasn't worth it to him anymore, or maybe he lost his passion for it.

Yeah, he had a long career for a kid of that age, but a shame for sure.

He'd been doing MMA since he was 14, that's a fairly long career. He'd also been training since 4 under his dad. Many times with those careers that start younger they burn out quicker.

he also had matt brown hurt bad too.

robin black recently said on the jre podcast that he assumed jordan retired because of the lack of money, not worth it for the damage he was taking

Reebok deal & perhaps the recent losses he took were contributory factors to his retirement. It's simply not worth continuing on. He was smart kid with options & potential in life. I think he made the right decision.

I reckon he will be back in the next couple years or so. Permanent comeback? Maybe not, but he will come back. Fighting runs in his family and the kid is damn good at it.

I also reckon he will be back at some point. He's young enough to take a 2 or 3 year break from the sport.

Makes sense ... Took way too many shots for a kid that age ... Doc probably told him he was showing signs of being punch drunk already
