The history books often read very differently than our own perceptions of fighters, especially as they're shaped in real time.
Ali is practically untouchable, and only true historians remember that the latter half of his career sucked.
I suspect his indiscretions (personal difficulties, who he didn't fight) will only be a footnote, or an asterisk.
At the end of the day, he will be recognized as the GOAT, who had some personal problems, but retired undefeated (well, you know...).
