The bodywork built up and got him to drop his hands and move his head right into line for the head kick.

That was the game plan right there. Anderson and Gus both had the most luck hurting DC in the body, it slowed him down.

I though DC fought pretty well. He was throwing low kicks that seemed to be working. Mixing up striking and wrestling. And caught Jones with a number of big punches to the head that would have messed up most other fighters.

Jones has an iron head/chin. And is the best fighter on the planet. Not easy to beat.

Those knees to the body were vicious. I'd have been dropped and carried out to the hospital for any one of those while crying uncontrollably. I bet those front kicks and left hooks to the liver didn't feel much more pleasant.

While DC looked like the aggressor, Jones was doing what counted and these body shots were a big part of it.

Jones was setting the pace and dominating. DC landed, but as time went on it was going to get worse and worse for DC.

Yep. I think those body shots set up that big kick. DC even reacts thinking Jones is going low. Perfect execution.

The gifs show the story. DC was expecting another body kick and went to block it reflexively. Bam headshot. Shows it def wasn't a fluke KO but a trap set by Jones. Lord is he lethal.

He also started the last round with shitloads of inside leg kicks - he was setting it up the whole time.
