Blame Wink-Jackson. Played with fire last time & barely won.

There’s a good chance. But at some point he’s going to have to stand with Gus

I think he’s gonna poke Gus in the eye and not get a point taken away, he won’t even get a stern warning.

I could see that.

Would be cool if Gus times a knee and rocks Jon.

Then Jon pokes Gus in the eyes with desperation and Gus reels back in pain. The ref misses it and Jon closes in to finish The Mauler.

Gus is taken to the mat and mounted. Jon starts unleashing elbows from hell and the arc of the blows slowly start to change. 12-6 elbows are thrown and the ref calls time. Gus can’t continue and Jon is DQd.

I predict Jones to use the clinch heavily in this fight.

Heavy jab, lots of kicks from the distance.

Uppercuts and good body work from the clinch. Few takedown.

I feel like this will be the best Jones has ever looked thanks to the picogram

On a seperate note, does anybody know who Gus brought in to replicate Jones?

He trains with guys like Latifi, but also some kickboxers but I haven't heard anything this camp. He must have brought in some specialist to prepare for Jones.

Jones brought in some Russian boxer to replicate alex

Bones is a clinch and trip guy. Gus is not likely to catch him with a knee.
Jon still shoots from the outside occasionally. First fight he tried multiple times and finally got the double leg finish in the 5th.

But yeah I think he’ll try more Greco this time around.

I dunno, the Greco didn’t work so well last time. I think he’ll tune up his striking and work on a couple specific takedowns if the opportunity presents itself. Kind of how Romero came in against Whittaker last time

Likely Jon uses his stabbing front leg side kicks to the leg and oblique kicks to set Gus up for a high kick finish or to just out point him for a decision.

I don’t see Jon Jones playing it safe with Gus though I think he wants to get a finish to make a statement.

For Gustafsson he needs to let those hands loose and fight his fight, avoid the takedown shots and piece Jones up.

The one thing that’s concerning to me is Gus’ tendency to “re-set”, I can see him looking to do that and carelessly putting himself in a position to eat a high kick.

I'm betting 200 on Gus tomorrow for the upset, but I secretly want Jones to win, so I can hear DC rage. Jones winning is much more important than 200 dollars, but if he somehow losses tomorrow I will be given 500 dollars to help in my pain.

I also think Jones will try to take this fight to the ground early. He is not going to want to take unnecessary damage in striking exchanges and probably figures a grappling game plan will throw off Gus and derail his only possible path to victory.

Jones wins this easily. I don’t see it going past round three.

I think it'll be similar to the first fight, but Jones will be more dominant. And Gustafsson has great TDD, so I don't see him taking Gus down (with ease, anyway).

I highly doubt that. The first time Jon attempted to get the fight down and failed. Jon attempted more takedowns in the Gus fight than any other fight in his career, in fact 5 more and he went 1 for 11. Gus wrestling has improved even more over 5 years. This will be a kick boxing bout again.

I do expect Gus to actually wrestle more in this fight and throw Jon of his game.

The story will be written tomorrow. The Picogram is the wildcard here. Objectively I would have picked Gus before the picogram, but now I'm giving Jones the edge.
