The 26-year-old light heavyweight champion said on a Baltimore-area radio show Wednesday that he hopes to retire by the age of 30.

Silva is still one of the best fighters in the world – maybe the best – at age 38. Georges St-Pierre is in his prime at 32. Randy Couture, bless his heart, fought until age 48.

But Jones? He wants to call it quits in another four years.

“I think a man can be in his fighting prime until his mid-30s,” Jones said. “Saying that, though, I would like to retire by 30, so a few more years.”

Well that sucks.

Obviously he's afraid of all the A level athletes that will be pouring in in the near future.

I doubt he will. That's how he thinks now, but when he's 30, he'll still want to compete. At least I hope so. It would suck to have him retire so young.

It's stupid beyond belief to take even one more fight after you're already financially set for life.

Nice av bro. Seul Contre Tous was a masterpiece. It makes requiem for a dream look like the teletubbies when it comes to depressing the hell out of you.

I hope so. He is the worst champion we've had since tim Sylvia.

Don't blame him one bit, but I doubt he retires. In 4 years he probably won't have the title and he'll be talking himself into a run at it again.

I can understand because he's been talking about a movie career along with trying other sports. How on earth can he do all that if he sticks to fighting? You can't give your whole heart to 3 things at once. So I think he's serious about movies and maybe some other sports. If he doesn't retire by 30 he'll never have time in his life to do everything he wants.

I don't see him doing well in acting when he can't even act nice and humble
