He didn't lost the fire. He lost the novelty. He has no more surprises for anyone. People have seen his game countless times, so they come to the fight better prepared. When you no longer have the element of surprise is difficult to look untouchable. Jon's success was never due to pure skill. He was never a great technical fighter. He has a weird body and a weird unpredictable style. Once the style is no longer unpredictable, he has nothing else to offer.

He’s past his prime. He will continue going to close decisions until one day he gets his lights shut off. The judges are too scared to score it against him.

I think this is more the story. Jones can't possibly hold the same fire as the people coming up.

What the... the dude is highly skilled and an amazing technical fighter. He does not even have an unpredictable style.

I agree and that makes him even more special. People know exactly how he fights as he's been in the UFC for over a decade, and he is still undefeated and beats all of his opponents. That is CRAZY.

Reyes didn't really do anything tbh. He landed a kick here and there, but Jones dominated/outclassed him for most of the fight.

He didn't win that fight but go rewatch it and see how many punches he threw after getting tagged initially in the first 30 seconds. Jones is not a good boxer, never has been, never will be. He threw a straight in the second round and braced for a counter , a true sign of being bested in boxing.

He doesn't beat his opponents. He takes roids and gets saved by the judges when he clearly loses.

He's lost a step for sure

But its speed related, not motivation imo

He's just been looking so slow these days

Yeah just scored a knockdown, wobbled him a few times, outstruck him three straight rounds and rendered his wrestling useless. Outside of that he done nothing.

Except that he still has better cardio, fight IQ and heart than his opponents. Jon continues to find a way to pull away in the 4th and 5th rounds and opponents simple have nothing to offer him.
