Before you bring up the steroid excuses, please explain how your favourite “juiced to the gills” fighters gets dropped like flies but not Jones who has shown an outstanding ability to take a good shot to his chin?

He's definitely been hurt, but he's got a hell of a poker face and never shows any visible signs of being hurt.

I was impressed with his ability to take shots against Reyes. Who know what's pulsing through his system at any given time though.

Jones defense is impressive during the Reyes fight. Thank God Reyes really bring it on. Hopeful for immediate rematch.

He's definitely got an iron chin. But time will tell when it breaks if Jones continues to fight in his 40's that is.

Jones can take some insane damage

Even his skinny legs can take crazy damage

1. He has a top chin
2. Those gifs are not proof. Those are weak strikes
3. He never fought a guy like Rumble, Hunt, Ngannou
4. Seroids improve your bone density, but a chin is a chin and every chin can be cracked.
5. He doesn't have 50 fights in MMA
6. He rarely receives hard powerful strikes

Epic level chin. A decade in the UFC and he’s never been hurt outside of briefly against Machida. Reyes might’ve had him in trouble too, but he recovers incredibly fast. Eventually it’ll crack. They all do.

He has a point.
Steroids can not stop a brain from bouncing against the side of your head.

rumble would flatten jones.

stipe too.

His cardio.
Good cardio equals good chin.

Maybe it helps but I doubt it equals a good chin. Any flyweight has better cardio than Jones; none of them could withstand the shots he ate.

Most of the gifs in the OP showcase Jones' chin but the Machida gif instead shows him doing a magisterial job of avoiding shots, not eating them.

I doubt the blows Jones took from Cormier are equivalent to those C's HW opponents took.

sure maybe steroids do not directly have an effect on your chin/ability to absorb a shot to the head, but steroids do cause your muscles to not only develop strength and endurance faster but just plain recover faster from training, so if he's properly strengthening and conditioning his neck, then yes the steroids absolutely can be linked directly to his ability to absorb a strike to the head.

It's definitely mostly genetics. Cardio can certainly improve recovery rate from being hurt. But yeah just look at guys like Jonathan Goulet. Decent wrestler with plenty of cardio, absolutely no ability to absorb shots to the head without going down.

His chin has kept him in the GOAT discussion arguably. So many shots he's taken would have put most people out, and they didnt even affect him. He's like the perfect build for a fighter.
