So what? Cormier has had a career at HW, the division Jones is afraid of. Cormier has been beating the bigger, tougher fighters his career and at LHW he makes it look easy. I have no idea who is going to win (pulling for Cormier) but this is probably Jones' toughest fight stylistically.

Give us a a break about jones being Afraid of HW. He is willing to face the champion in Cain. Jones also began his career at LHW when he barely cut weight and has a belt to defend.

I always chuckle at the comments about champions being afraid of something when they face better competition than most in other divisions.

Beating Big Foot, Barnett and Monson is somewhat commendable but its not as if he faced JDS or Cain at HW. Cormier has not fought better or tougher fighters in his career. He has fought bigger and slower fighters. Cormier is a talented fighter but his career and resume is no where near Jones.

He also has yet to face the elite at LHW.

I hope you arent trying to compare talent and skills of the LHW to HW because that would be faulty.

DC has been pretty straight about trying to make as much cash as possible in the limited years he has left. He has to be pretty damn happy with how things have gone. If he picked the fights himself it would be hard to see it much different. 2 draws past their prime and physically mismatched against him at HW, a free payday in Cummins when his opponent gets hurt and another easy win against a draw who is way past his prime. I know DC is not young by fight standards either but he still has some good tread on the tires. And despite these gifts being split up by weight classes, the carry over accomplishments and popularity plus an injury gets him a title shot. He goes into it knowing his worst fear of an injury ending his career before making the cash was avoided. And really has no pressure on him at all. At this point it is just can he make even more cash by getting the belt. All the pressure will be on Jones. I think Jones will be making a mistake if he doesn't realize that. Win or lose Cormier probably only has 2-3 more fights in him anyway after surgery. He will still get big fights and end his fighting career to go on to announce full-time. This PPV will be huge bucks for DC and is a win/win for him and i think he will be going into it confident and stress-free.
