Jones has risen quickly due to his style, always creative with his strikes and submissions along with his wrestling and vicious ground and pound.
But its not been 4 fights won by decision including 3 pretty unentertaining ones...
I almost fell asleep wathcing him paw at OSP and throwing that oblique kick repeatedly...
So yeah talk all the shit you want about Mc Gregor, but in the end you will all miss him...
RDA injured, Aldo couldn't get a finish when he wasn't pulling out, Cain, Werdum also injured and pulling out...
The UFC is in desperate need of fighters like Conor or the Diaz brothers who will always show up and fight to get a finish...
Oh, and DJ is awesome, such a shame he is a small guy...

When you fight the caliber of fighters he does, finishes don't come as easily.

He's fought some great fighters. Bones puts the hurt on everyone.
Tonight I think he wanted some time to shake off the rust.

Gus, DC, Glover and now OSP after 16 months off.

Before that he made Shogun tap to strikes and he boa constrictored Lyoto, Rampage and Vitor.

Gus might have did something to him. Before him Jones finished everyone.

Pretty much what I'm saying...He used to ragdoll and easily finish world caliber fighters before Gus...And still Gus fight was VERY entertaining. He almost lost and couldn't finish but still gave it all...
Ever since, he's been fighting snoozers...No longer takes any risks, doesn't seem interested in finishing...
I mean OSP comon, Bader could take him down at will and make the fight more exciting...OSP, the guy who has no cardio and only had a few weeks to prepare...
Jones could have...SHOULD have finished this in the 3rd, OSP had absolutely nothing for Jones...

Nog long ago Jones almost finshed someone, but this got him suspended.

well jones fight the guys whom are at their peaks at the time and has the winning streaks coming on fighting him. you have to remember that hes the champion whos defending the belt and fights top notch competition

Well so is Lawler, so was Weidman, and so is DJ...but they haven't changed their fighting style nonetheless.

Gus exposed Jones and today we saw a glimps of it again. A guy with zero cardio taking a fight in three weeks notice, still Jones was scared to engage. Pathetic!!

Lol at touting the Diaz boys as big finishers.

I agree with "he caught an Aldo" more than a GSP...GSP never was any power puncher...he was athletic and mixed everything so well together but simply couldn't finish a certain caliber of opponent.
Aldo kept fighting the same caliber of opponents and was still a powerful striker with a BJJ black belt and near perfect TDD...
He could have easily finished many of these guys he fought...
Jones could have easily finished OSP any time of the fight, they were not in the same league at all...Jones has all the physical attributes, power and skill to finish anyone.

They are not "big finishers" but they go for the finish. They will walk you down, keep throwing punches and look for any available sub for as long as they are fighting.

I think this happens with most champs who carry on too long, they get much too cautious

GSP became a point fighter to keep his reign going

Fedor got too confident and didn't try to get out of Werdum's submission

Anderson went full break dancer and got punched in the face

so on and so on

BONES is now next in line and ready to fall and fall hard.
