Jones earned $500,000 & DC earned $90,000 for UFC 182

Plus a ppv cut from like an 800k buy rate. He probably made a few million.

Lol, no....

How PPV points generally work is that you get $1 per PPV bought AFTER a certain amount.

I would assume given they know Jones sells, he'll make $1/per after 200k. That means he likely added 300-600k to his purse. We've just gotta wait on the numbers to be released.

Seeing as how the UFC is in a decline it's really not surprising. Did you expect the UFC to keep paying more and more even when they are doing worse then they used to?

well with the UFC in "decline" dana rented an entire island for his vacation...

and of course, fools in this thread fail to acknowledge even though it has been proven time and time again that DISCLOSED PAY DOES NOT ALWAYS EQUAL ACTUAL PAY

Let's say that Jones has the same PPV points in his contract as Eddie Alvarez's original UFC contract did, then it would look like this:

$500,000 to show
$200,000 for hitting 400,000 buys
$400,000 for hitting 600,000 buys
$2.50 for every buy over 600,000

If they hit 850,000 buys (guesstimate on my part), then that would mean $625,000 extra.

500,000 + 200,000 + 400,000 + 625,000 = $1,750,000 Bones would have made if he has the same PPV points structure

Rodgers made $18 millon this year, or about 7% of his teams entire gross revenue from all sources. Jones makes about 7% of the gross revenue for cards he is on. And very few guys in the UFC make 20% of what he does.

/thread

No 18-million is his salary cap number, what he actually gets paid (actual salary) is 10-million. Of course this doesn't include his original signing bonus at the start of the contract.

My only point is Jones is making really great money. You're comparing him to the highest paid player in the NFL, a sport literally making 20-30x more money than the UFC lol.

And again, super bowl champion Rusell Wilson leading my Seattle Seahawks made only 800k.

His original signing bonus, as is money he was paid to pay professional football, even if he doesn't?

Yea and my boss rented an entire floor in the biggest building in Texas for himself while our stock is plummeting by nearly $20. Bosses make bank welcome to America. If you ever expect a boss to take a pay cut before his employees then your living in a fantasy world.

Nope, TS said it, so it has to be true. Jones made 500k and DC made 90k, and neither made a penny more. UFC must have done away with PPV points and other non-disclosed pay.

What is the criteria? I mean, why was Danny Castillo paid better than, say, Myles Jury?

Compare the numbers with UFC 100, after 6 years of solid UFC growth they are still paying pretty much the same. And still with a crazy criteria.

Brock Lesnar: $400,000 (no win bonus) def. Frank Mir: $45,000
Georges St-Pierre: $400,000 ($200,000 win bonus) def. Thiago Alves: $60,000
Jon Fitch: $90,000 (includes $45,000 win bonus) def. Paulo Thiago: $8,000

Yoshihiro Akiyama: $60,000 ($20,000 win bonus) def. Alan Belcher: $19,000
Mark Coleman: $100,000 ($50,000 win bonus) def. Stephan Bonnar: $25,000
Jim Miller: $22,000 ($11,000 win bonus) def. Mac Danzig: $20,000
Jon Jones: $18,000 ($9,000 win bonus) def. Jake O'Brien: $13,000
Dong Hyun Kim: $58,000 ($29,000 win bonus) def. T.J. Grant: $5,000

Champ Jon Jones: $500,000 (no win bonus) def. Daniel Cormier: $90,000

Cody Garbrandt: $16,000 (includes $8,000 win bonus) def. Marcus Brimage: $12,000
Shawn Jordan: $44,000 (includes $22,000 win bonus) def. Jared Cannonier: $8,000
Evan Dunham: $54,000 (includes $27,000 win bonus) def. Rodrigo Damm: $12,000

Marion Reneau: $17,600 (includes $8,000 win bonus) def. Alexis Dufresne: $6,400

The undercard average is up by 15%.

The main card average was down, but it's being thrown off by GSP and Brock on the same card. If you average the GSP/Brock fights and use just one of them then the main card average is up by 12.5%.

Seems reasonable enough to me for such a limited sample.

Yeah I don't think that's really fair, especially if the ppv did 750,000 buys like they are predicting. That's a huge profit margin for zuffa.

Wonder how much jones will make with his ppv points

You won't know the full buyrate for a few weeks/month.

And then you get cut a second check.

overeem got $2.

This was the paystructure from Randy Couture contract.

Fewer than 100,000: No bonus
100,000 – 175,000: $1 per buy
175,000 – 300,000: $1.5 per buy
300,000 – 330,000: $2 per buy
Over 330,000: $3 per buy

And this Contract ist like 5 years old. GSP was rumored to get up to 5$ per PPV buy. So we can assume that Jones get around 3-5 $ for each PPV. UFC 182 will do at least 750k buys which are 2.25 Mio + the showmoney and sponsors, so Jones will easily earn 3 Mio $ a fight. Fight 3x a year and u earn around 10 mio a year. Taxes will take 50% off that and 20% goes to the manger/trainer, so 30% or about 3-4 Mio $ will go to Jones bankaccount, if he fights 3 times a year. I could live off that :p

I read in some interview that mark hunt makes about 400k per fight, i think this amount of money should get comier aswell! Even if he doesnt get that much, with his fox deal he will do just fine.

You're kidding yourself if you think DC didn't walk away with a significant cut and a discretionary bonus. He and Jones hyped this fight to epic levels and brought in massive viewership and advertising dollars.

I'm very confident that he was compensated extremely well even in defeat.

Yeah, if we ignore that UFC 100 happened 6 years ago, when the UFC was a much smaller organization restricted to the US/Canadian markets and doing only 20 events per year, then I will have to agree with you, seems reasonable indeed.
