Jones becoming the GSP of the LHW?

Last three fights has been decisions and he hasnt really gone for the finish in any of those fights (outside of gus 4th round end). Now hugged and controlled DC for majority of the fight and were in caution mode the whole fight.

Is Jones becoming GSP type safety first and decision machine or is the competion just so much tougher than before that its harder to fight opponents? Thoughts please...

 

Yeah aside from the fact that Bones fucks his opponents up, he is definitely the LHW version of GSP, both are GOATs of mma

 

GSP was always way more active than the Jones clinch hold/hug.

Yes, obviously like others he doesn't want to be injured in all those meetings when he is done with pro sports.

It's the natural progression when you become a Champion.

You fight mostly really tough guys.

I don't see Jones taking down people and sitting in half guard while looking at the clock...and I don't even like Jones but he is at least fun to watch

Ummmmm I dunno. I think Jones was trying just as much as always to finish the fight, especially in the first four rounds before they both were worn out.

The fact of the matter is, when you're champion, you do have to fight smarter and end up fighting tougher opponents and as a result, you inherently end up doing what you need to do to win. Sometimes it ends in a decision but that doesn't mean they're not trying.

no I enjoyed watching GSP fight and was a big fan of his in and out of the cage , by far my favourite,fighter of all time .
I find Jones boring both in and out of the cage , in saying that he us one of the greatest fighters to grace the octagon .
