John Oliver would be better. unquestionably left wing but still unafraid to take them to task.
FOX comedians moderated the republican debate. What's the issue?

That it is for a fucking presidential debate not an opening act at Caroline's. It is dumb that either side did it.
I guess since we had a joke sitting atop the throne for the last 16 years we have given up all pretense and admit the run for presidency is a very shitty sitcom.
Not gonna lie, Kelly has grown on me over the last few years. Okay I'll admit, her being easy on the eyes is part of it but you have to give it to her, she went after the GOP candidates.I'll take Jon stewart over Brit Hume, Megyn Kelly, Chris Matthews any day.
Stewart pokes as much fun at Dems as he does repubs.
Those getting all rustled over this have never seen his show.
Kelly was great, loved her in the debate.I haven't had so many consistent lulz over a 2 hour period since Superbad or maybe Tropic Thunder.
Trump was the headliner with the moderators throwing alley oops, and giving solid performances themselves.
Mr. Trump you said Rosie was a fat pig and some other shit about some other broads. Sup with that?
Governor Bush, Senator Rubio said he got Flo Rida on lock. You goin out like a bitch?
Gov Kasich you went to a gay wedding. Thought you was no homo. Did you bake them a gay cake too?
Lil Ron Paul ::talk to the hand::
Not surprised. His show was really lefty
I'd much rather see him moderate a GOP debate.
It really wasn't.
I would absolutely love him as a moderator. He wouldn't let the politicians lie without confronting them, and he has the reservoir of knowledge at his fingertips to do it. Charlie Rose is another journalist I think would shine as a moderator (for either party). I don't understand why the perception of a moderator's political leanings should factor into our consideration of their qualifications for the job, btw. The fact the Fox editorial staff moderated the GOP debate was another huge step forwards in dividing this country along partisan lines: another huge, terrible step forward. This is one of the most serious issues crippling our capital's ability to effectively govern our country. We're dividing into "camps". The DNC and the RNC need to be reined in.
He's clearly a pretty Liberal guy, which I am not, but what I like about guys like Maher and Stewart is that they're just as quick to jump on other Liberals for doing and saying stupid things as they are to conservatives and I have no doubt he will as very difficult questions of every candidate the way Foxnews did in the Republican debate.
Only if we get Colbert for GOP debates.
I don't care who moderates as long as they don't ask gotcha questions and make the candidates answer the question that was asked.
That was the frustrating part of the GOP debate, because we get "Would you go to a gay wedding and the abortion question.
The abortion question is a waste at the GOP since all but Pataki is pro life. They only differ on rape, life saving and incest abortions.
what a joke it would be
i was already tired of megyn kelly trying to be the star of the first debates. the debate is about the candidates not the damn moderator. fuck this shit

Have you even seen his show?
He criticized Dems all the time, and he even criticized Pres Obama to his face on the show, but most of his jokes were directed at the GOP because... the GOP is a massive joke.
ikr
It's easy to understand why someone from the same political party would not be good moderating.
A republican moderator for democrats and a democrat moderator for reoublicans is how it should work.
I have seen the show, it slants to the left. Theres a reason why the audience was young liberals.
At first I think the idea is intriguing but thinking it through it's probably a bad idea.
Republican candidates wouldn't even answer questions from John Stewart. "so what is your plan for climate change?" "it's a hoax, Im not a scientist, blah blah". What about income inequality? "don't care, repeal the estate tax!" It would be a total waste of time.
And the reverse is true as well. It would be 2 hours of questions about Hillary's fucking emails and Benghazi.
In theory though, I am with you. It would be refreshing to see candidates challenged by opposing ideas but they wouldn't play nice.
