Shogun Henderson happened too late in 2011 to be nominated last year, that's why it was included this year. The period for the awards is a bit confusing.

 

For fighting more, winning the championship and defending it twice.

Whatever your opinions on how the fight went or who won, Bendo has fought more and has been in 3 title fights last year. You can go cry about him being a "fluke" champion somewhere else
