Anyone else concern about jones tipping the scale at 240. I mean yeah people have cut more weight to fight at their weight classes but with jone's new power lifting training and gaining muscle mass, weight cutting would be more difficult

I'm sure he'll make the weight, but I, too, am curious as to how his new physique affects the weight-cutting process.

Last pics I saw of him, it looked like he had already slimmed down quite a bit. His muscles looked less thick, and more wirey.

I don't think he'll have any issues on the scale.

Holy shit a new thread that isn't about the Conor situation! You're a brave man TS

But I think he will be fine, he just said today that he was currently at 218lbs.

He will probably have to cut more than usual, but that doesn't really mean much considering that he usually cut from about 218-220 lbs.

He doesn't cut from 240 you amateur.

Well I hope it doesn't hurt his performance, extra weight cut, fighting after a long layoff and with his new physique

He weighed 240 prior to fight camp. He lost that muscle as he moved from heavy weight to...i dunno...what do healthy people do to get more healthy? I've never moved from this keyboard.

He said he's 218 the other day. He just got up to 240 when he was putting on muscle over the last few months

Walk-around weight is not the weight that you cut from.

Even though he isn't cutting from 240, it's still a huge fluctuation in weight and can't be healthy.

He sized to 218 for the camp.

Do you pay attention to anything beyond thread/article titles?

In the same interview he said that he currently weighs 218, which is just about where he normally is coming out of camp.

Jon Jones never had issues with this stuff.

He was always on top of the weight cutting I believe in all his fights he entered fight week in the high 210's or max in the very low 220's.

Overall it's a very small cut for a 205 lbs fighter % base.. he fights 223-227 lbs max on fight night.

The guys in the smaller division cut way more weight then the LHW's.

Jones quote: (had a bunch of reports and his always btw low 220's max high 220's his never reached the 230 mark on fight night so the 240 mark isn't even close)
"You beat a guy that was 50 years old. And now you’re stepping in there against a 27-year-old who’s going to come in there at 227 pounds – healthy, young and athletic.”

he's not 240. he said he is 218 now. The same as always>

He dirty bulked to 240 to add a few lbs of muscle then leaned back out before the fight. NOw he is slightly leaner but still his normal cutting weight of <220
