Anyone have the stats on leg kicks thrown at JJ?

I wonder how many have been thrown, what percent are connecting, and how many he is catching or using to take people down with.

Throwing very low leg kicks (similar to the Wilcox fight the other week) is the best strategy Gus can implement imo

kind of hard to kick someone when they are standing across the street.

It's hard to get a clean shot on him and your going to be eating a job, elbow or getting violently taken to the ground if you spam kicks.

A JJ jab can connect before a typical opponent can kick his legs. Even from the outside. Also kicking him means he gets a 'free' TD and hellbows your forehead into paste. The risk/reward just isn't in his opponent's favor it would seem. My take.

outside leg kicks against Jones will just make you get taken down by his giant arms. Inside leg kicks should be used more though. I remember Rampage conected a good one but didn't follow up with punches like he should.

Jones is pretty good at grabbing any kick for a takedown.

Im sure a lot of guys think about kicking his legs but their game plans get scrambled once they are in the ring with him.

Jon is constantly changing his style and uses so many tactics designed to confuse or trick you.

    Yup!

Jones HATES inside leg kicks, and Rampage was the first to uncover that, but just stood in front of him afterward even though he'd literally punted Jones's leg completely out of stance. What a strange world this is...

For those who are unaware, while there's nothing quite as beautiful as a crisp, chopping outside leg kick, inside leg kicks are much harder to catch, and will usually force an opponent to halt in his tracks and reset himself as they break one's stance since because they move the leg outward, especially if you stand as heavy on your front leg as Jones did when he fought Rampage (though he has adopted a more upright, kicking-centric one in recent times).

Is there a certain way to check leg kicks (foot or shin)?

If someone could get some good kicks at Jone's legs, I'm not sure those twigs could take the punishment.

i doubt jones hates them that much. he wasnt wincing in pain or anything. just wasnt ready for page to kick cause he rarely does. but it is a great technique like u said and its designed to do what u said. someone with such a kick heavy game like jones must train more then the norm in taking kicks also
