Media Jon Jones: "Right now I could really care less about fighting"

This entire situation is Dana's fault. Letting Jones cherrypick Gane after seeing his shit TDD against Ngannou. And then stall out the division to let him fight a decrepit retiree. This is shameful and Jones is a disgrace.

Annoys me so much when people say "I could care less".
That was the most likes I think I've ever gotten on a post and it was the most low-effort, first-thing-that-came-to-my-mind kind of thing. I should do that more often

dana needs to just give jones his fuck you money on paper. its that simple.

Jon "Lazybones" Jones

Technically this means he cares. Could be a small amount of caring or it could be weighing heavily on his mind.

Exaclty! Everyone knows its eating Jones alive that despite everything he has done in the sport people still hate him and treat him like a bum and a duck. He’s so triggered by it, its not even funny. Imagine having millions and still replying to trolls online like a little angry girl lol.

How do so many people fuck this phrase up
Like what do they say to describe that they don't care loads, but could could less than they do? They've already used it up on another meaning.

Excellent news to come from bones Jon. Certainly he was become bone-to-find GOAT of all times when all it was saddled on. Many wishes of victories and blessing unto you! God Bless. 🙏

It was never about the money with Ngannou or Aspinall.

Remember when he went on a random tangent at a presser about Tom being an asshole and how he's mean or whatever and that's why he doesn't want to fight him?

That told you Jon is grasping for straws to not fight what he fears the most, which is getting knocked out.

He wouldn't want to get knocked out for 30 mil otherwise this fight would've been booked already

Not reading through this entire thread but surely someone has to have pointed out that Jon's quote means that HE CARES about fighting.

I've been of the opinion this fight will happen, and the majority of these headlines is to gin up drama.

But lately I've been slightly questioning this theory.

If this fight doesn't happen the main person to blame - Tom Aspinall.

Wait what?
<WhatIsThis>

Yeah, I said it.

Aspinall should have channelled his inner Conor McGregor within the 1st Quarter of this year and trash talked Jones into accepting the fight.
He should have publicly doubted Jones legacy at LHW & HW.
He should have outright said Jones is scared to fight him. Calling him a duck didn't do it.
Jones got pissed at Stipe for talking about his family (when he didn't & Stipe apologized)... So Aspinall should have talked about the times Jones beat his wife.
Pointing out Jones is getting fat and not training, and roasting him for it.

The sad fact is Aspinall's inability to make this a blockbuster fight has made it acceptable for Jones to walk away into retirement.

Aspinall should have made Jones question his status as a man.

He did. Reportedly Jones agreed at first but then thought better of it. Tom's so far in his head at this point that he probably can't compose himself mentally for the fight, never mind the physical advantages Tom has over him.

Ngannou aint never coming back... Maybe he can fight rico verhoeven, but he burned his chance of ever coming back to the ufc by acting like ... well himself. Screws you over as soon as he doesnt need you anymore. He thought he didnt need the ufc anymore either until he got knocked the fuck out by joshua. He probably wouldve beaten both aspinal and jon if u ask me.
And Jon is on his way to kill his own legacy in proper fashion. If he doesnt fight aspinall and keeps talking the way he does noone cares about his legacy anymore if he retires. Wasnt he afraid to train with ubereem as well back in the days something about ubereem ragdollling him around. I dont really care that hes a bad rolemodel in real life but i really cant stand his smuck attitude and all around narcissistic behavior. Its at the point he really needs to fight and beat Aspinal now if he wants to retire on a positive note. He couldve just retired and there wouldnt be a problem at all. In the end Dana shouldve stripped him from the belt , jon is not the type of guy to just vacate it for the good of the division.

He won't take 30m when there's a CHANCE of getting shadfaced. That tells you how incredibly insecure he is.

Tom doesn't have an inner Chael Sonnen. It would sound fake and contrived

Then give up the fucking belt, it's literally that easy, but he's so much of a fucked human being that he enjoys all the talk and comments and hate.

Aspinall having his time wasted like Chandler who sat out for 2 years waiting on McGoof. Time to move on from this clown show.

That's the thing.
Chael Sonnen wasn't a trash-talker until he developed the confidence and lines to trash-talker.
It takes a bit of time to develop it, but literally every fighter can do it to varying degrees.

Aspinall has the luxury of practicing it for multiple takes before uploading it into social media. That's the starting off point.
Then begin to do it in interviews.
Then press conferences.

The thing is a fighter doesn't have to be extremely good at it, like Sonnen or McGregor, what matters is the confidence that it's said and the credibility behind the claims & insults.

*Jones is old.
*Jones admits I'm a gamble.
*I'd be his toughest fight at Heavyweight but he wouldn't be in my Top5.
*Jones claiming to be the greatest MMA heavyweight ever is a punchline. He fought someone with no ground game & a 42 year old Stipe who was retired for 4 years.

And that's just a short list of what I could come up with off the top of my head.
