Jon Jones retired because he is terrified of Tom Aspinall, lets be honest

Alright I'm back and have around 30-60 minutes to waste. Are you here you little guy? How are you today have you been outside taking that vitamin D?
Yup. It's pretty hot and sunny in Formia, Italy at their Olympic training centre for the summer.

How are you tiny Tim?

Nice!

I gtg you were too slow to respond man. I guess I'll catch up with you another day.

People acting like Tom is another Gane, Lewis, retirement Stipe aren't fooling us and aren't even fooling themselves
Yeah Tom is super dangerous and Jones is damn near 40... Lets see Tom kick ass for the next 6 years and then be fired up to take on a 32 year old athletic, hard hitting stud.. People act like Jones is still 27 and doesn't have 30 fights.. He also fought at LHW for 95% of his career.. And he wasn't struggling like Kayla Harrison to make weight.. He made it easy..

Still seeing this argument pop up - Jon isn't scared of Tom.

Let's be honest.

Tom retired Jon with out even fighting him, because Jones is absolutely terrified of the guy.

Where were these games when it came to fighting already retired 40+ Stipe or couldn't wrestle a middle school child Gane?

Jon Jones retired in absolute fear of Aspinall.
If we're actually being honest, we'd note that Jones originally said that the Stipe fight would be it for him, and then reconsidered for a while after having a good night.

This isn't a sport where you can half-ass it and not put yourself at serious risk. If the desire to go through training isn't there, then it isn't there, and he's been doing this for about 20 years.

Occams' razor - the simplest explanation is often the best one.

But, if going with that same, tired "he's so scared" stuff makes him living rent-free in your head any easier, you do you.

Most of that I can agree with. But there's a couple that are...dubious at best. Jon at 37 had no issues fighting 42 year old Stipe who hadn't won a fight in 4+ years. So the age thing...c'mon.

And more importantly, had Jon just outright said he was done right after Stipe he wouldn't be getting NEAR this much shit. If it's a question of "Jones doesn't have it in him to fight a bigger, faster, younger guy that's knocking everyone's head off"...okay! That's understandable. Then don't drag shit out like an asshole for 7 months.

I am NOT disputing that Jones cherry picked Stipe.. When you get to that age, are rich have miles on the tires etc.. It happens.. GSP came back at 36 for Bisping.. I was so hoping he would fight Whitaker. He didn't..

I don't think he was sure about it.. If he was sure he retires fast.. Probably wanted to see what the UFC's final offer was and and then think about it.

Sadly I believe Jones is terrified of three things: 1) losing the fight 2) losing his status 3) losing to a white guy

Even crazier when the UFC gave him the number he wanted.

Quack.

None of this is relevant to the post you quoted or specific point that was bring debated.

You can't start a post "if we're actually being honest..." and then be completely disingenuous

Occams' razor - the simplest explanation is often the best one.
Oh, agree on this 10000% percent though

Simplest explanation- 1 guy retired rather than fight because he's shit scared if the opponent.

Doesn't get more simple.

Which is fine, because being 100% accurate about what actually happened, as described in my post, isn't disingenuous at all. Going into the fight, he said that was going to be it. When interviewed in the Octagon afterwards, whether it was it, he said, unspecifically, that he reconsidered.

So, what's disingenuous about my description of those events?

Is that the simplest explanation when - 1) Someone previously said the November fight was going to be his last, and 2) wound up making the November fight his last?

But sure, we live in Sherdog world, where everyone ducks and is terrified.
