Controversy sells. I wouldn't be surprised if his first ppv back after rehab is his most bought.

    not at all

pac is an international icon, and mayweather is probably the best known boxer in the US. Jones is known, but nowhere near where these guys are.

needless to say a Jones/Cain PPV would do incredible numbers now. Cain with the growing Mexican following and back story of avenging his friend and teammate...and Jones with all this publicity now

obviously nowhere near Mayweather/Pacquiao...but relative to UFC's recent numbers probably the biggest fight that can be made in MMA right now

You mean it's reaching Conor's level, not in the same universe as those other 2. :p

Mayweather is an admitted mysoginist, multiple woman beater and a huge massive arsehole.

Obviously hyperbole, but there's no doubt more people know Jones now than 48 hours ago. His marketability as a brand MIGHT take a slight hit, but his PPV numbers surely won't.

In the long run [If he doesn't pop for PEDs] - A Gus vs Bones rematch will get close to 1 mill buys.

A Bones v Lesnar fight would shatter 1 mill.

People love drama. Little things like coke etc are big media spikes. PED's on the other hand would ruin him.

Well if you look at the numbers, it indicates that there are as many people interested in Jones now as there were people interested in Pacquiao vs Algieri. This is worldwide numbers.

Getting popped for coke may be the best thing to ever happen to his career.

    Good for him.

If I was 27 years old and the champion and potentially one of the greatest of all time.

I would be doing heroic doses of the best drugs I could possibly get my hands on.

    You've confused "popular" with "notorious"

liked, admired, or enjoyed by many people
    vs
famous or well known, typically for some bad quality or deed

This scandal will be a net good for Jones if he comes back and just keeps winning.

A huge PPV and all this publicity from the Coke thing. The dude just became a much bigger draw no doubt, as strange as that is to say.

If Gus wins, the MMA world's darling. Gus vs Jones 2 will sell more then a million, this may end up good for his career.
