Jones is the GOAT
And you can guarantee Jon won’t run away from the sport for 4 years at age 32 after a close win.
Hendricks retired GSP
Regardless of what anyone thinks personally about him, 14 title wins is very respectable.
Would be more impressive if he actually won all those fights.
13 wins and a robbery
Super GOAT now.
i know my stuff
GSP 12 times(lost to Hendricks)
Jon 13 times(lost to Reyes)
Yeah it's really impressive considering he only did it because of corrupt POS judges.
Jones is fantastic and I believe he won a close fight vs Santos. But he absolutely lost last night. I don't give a fuck what the judges/media say about it. Reyes won that fight. It's an embarrassment for the sport. 49-46 is a joke. It was as clear of a 48-47 for Reyes as there's ever been. I am not a Jones hater either. He is the GOAT in my eyes, but he did not win that fight. I am heartbroken for Reyes
Nah, you gotta beat the Champ of a decade
No bullshit split getting backed up
Three of those fights, Jon lost by most counts.
Dat PED asterisk tho.......
LMAO. That's ludacris. In no real sport do you have to "beat the champ by a wide margin". You just need to win by any margin. That is how sports work. A win is a win and Jones didn't deserve that win.
Hope this doesn't come off as a knock against Jones, but he could be close to 20 championship wins if not for his time off for reasons we don't need to rehash.
Not a big fan of Jones on a personal or professional level, but big props to him!
Congrats on getting this record!
A lack of effective drug testing retired GSP... in his own words.
How did Hendricks do post USADA again? Oh wait, 1-5 and missed weight 4 times.
Exactly my thought. Jones is 32 now. If he retired now, then Arlovski or Struve somehow became HW champ. Jones could unretire for 1 easy HW title fight. Would be eerily similar to what that one WW champ did.
With the help of roids and corruption, he doesn't have to.
