But the interim title against someone who has shown weakness against wrestlers already shows the UFC brass is sort of hand-feeding him a 'gimme' imo.

That's more on Dana / Lorenzo than Bones though. I give Jon credit for still fighting and entertaining us MMA fans.

The UFC brass wanted Rumble, but Rumble turned it down.. He turned it down with good reason too, because fighting Jon Jones on short notice is never a good idea. If it was Cormier to fight, Rumble would be in though:

This. Not a fan but I watched his video message and he gained some respect in my eyes. Still would have preferred Hunt but whatever.

I dunno. I actually like this fight.

It isn't a terrible fight.

OSP is flawed, but he's powerful and he's probably only a win away from a top contender match anyway. He was thereabouts and was going to run into Jones sooner or later.

After the first couple of rounds I give OSP almost no chance, so actually I see this fight as somewhat similar to a Jones/Rumble match. The only key difference is that Rumble powers up after eye pokes, and we don't know if OSP has the same response to ocular damage.

If you listen to what Jones said, he clearly says he isn't usually into taking last minute fights as it isn't what he (and his trainers do) so lets respect any fighter that turns down a last minute fight if its turned down due to them not being able to compete at their best.

I would rather see Rumble face Jones fully prepared, whats the rush? some UFC fans are spoilt as boxing fans usually have to wait years for fights to happen, while some never take place at all.
