jones was booted from nike after running over a pregnant lady and a few months later ufc signs a long term deal with reebok. why? because they were afraid every brand would be permanently put off by jon jones shit behavior and it makes mma fighters in general look like idiots. ufc has never up front admitted to this because they didnt want to throw their champion under the bus and didnt want the fighters to know he was the reason they were getting fucked over by reebok.

No other fighter was going to secure a deal from Nike. Nike would only want a couple fighters, the best names.
The Reebok deal happened because it was a way for Dana and Lorenzo to make more money.

I honestly expect Reebok to walk away when their current deal with the UFC expires. Their own partner is content to throw them under the bus when it comes to bad press and public relations, and I don't think partnering with the UFC brings any added value to their brand right now. There's a big difference between a great price and a great deal.
