Jones will lose at HW, just like Conor started to once he moved up. Jones certainly has more technical skills and better wrestling but against the bigger HWs he loses a lot of the advantages he has at LHW on terms of height/reach. He could win fights, but he wouldn't be nearly as dominant as he was at LHW
 
Jon could have truly been so much more amazing than he is, but he literally wasted his prime years on Twitter. I think Jones is one of the most technically skilled, smartest, and absolute best I've seen at applying his strengths to his advantage. 2nd maybe to Mike Tyson. But his time has past. He is on the decline. It's plain as day. He will not only miss out on millions of dollars fighting at heavyweight, but the chance of cementing a spot as a heavyweight great is gone.

Jones is literally doing this the perfect way.

He waited until his 30s when athletes naturally get slower. He cemented his legacy at LHW and can now intelligently take his time prepping for HW

Cormier got into MMA at Jones current age at DOMINATED HW.

Plus taking his time triggers his haters, couldnt be better executed.

Connor has zero title defenses and multiple losses to unranked fighters, there is zero comparison here.

6 of Jones opponents have popped for PEDS so the math to anyone who hasnt just started watching MMA is simple

Dudes think pro fighting is like playing a video games.

These guys (the good ones) plan and train. In his case, hes the best the world.

DC started MMA and DESTROYED HW at Jones age now.

Well , if & when he will fight Ngannou those attributes won't count anymore, it'll be the first time Jones is fighting someone with similar reach and similar frame.
 
He should take a non title fight in the meantime just as a tune up fight. Kind of like Silva did with Bonnar and Griffin. Obviously Silva wasn't planning on moving up but it was still fun to see.
