There are 11 weeks between UFC 197 and UFC 200, which makes Jon Jones a legitimate possibility for the card. Potential opponents include:

DC Trilogy: If Cormier were to pull off the upset at UFC 197 then they would be tied at one win a piece. Given their intense rivalry and the coverage that Jones' loss would receive, a rubber match would be an easy sell. If it is a particularly one-sided loss then Jones could still be on the card in a non-title fight against Gustafsson or Rumble.

Anthony Johnson: Jones' scheduled opponent before being suspended, and the only top LHW contender that Jones has yet to defeat. Rumble has rebounded from the DC loss with two knockout wins over top 10 opponents and he presents an interesting stylistic threat to Jones. Even if Jones were to lose to DC this would be a good title eliminator.

Cain Velasquez: Cain is already rumored for the UFC 200 card against Travis Browne, but the UFC could switch things around to facilitate the bigger fight. Jones would have just dispatched Cain's friend and teammate and it would be his Heavyweight debut. It would be a solid co-main event to a McGregor title fight, a worthy main event over Nate vs Conor II and an outstanding 3rd fight if they really want to stack the card.

Fabricio Werdum: There are 8 weeks between UFC 198 and UFC 200. It would be a relatively short turnaround for Werdum, but being in the biggest fight ever should be plenty of motivation (not to mention the subsequent payday). If Werdum defends the title against Stipe and comes out injury-free then he would be silly not to take this fight. He would already be in fighting shape and he doesn't have to worry about cutting weight. There has also been some verbal back and forth between the two already, so this would be the absolute best case scenario. If Stipe wins then Jones could still face him for the belt, but it wouldn't be as interesting.

Thoughts?

Yeah. Don't understand why one of MMA's most dominant fighters ever is not on UFC 200.

I wanna see Jon Jones take on Anthony Johnson on this card if he wins (which he probably will)

Maybe against Rumble. If he gets past DC and sustains little damage I could see them trying to get him on the card.

If this is a war like I think it is going to be, I don't see him being medically cleared. JBJ via TKO 4th round.

i agree. was stupid, book him and DC at 200, along with the Weidman rockhold rematch.

but its ok we might get to watch nate pummel conor again

anything is better than diaz vs mcgregor 2 and i like diaz brothers

I don't see that happening, with medical suspensions and stuff. Plus Jackson-Wink are not fond of having their best fighters taking bouts without full camps, unless their name is Cerrone.

Yeah but Jon has been out of action for a while and his ppv cut for 200 would more than make up for that lost income. Under normal circumstances I'd say no but much like the short notice title fight against Shogun this would be hard to turn down.

the sooner he fights Rumble, the sooner we can see him jump to HW.

that, or Rumble starches him & Sherdog pretends he was a dumpster fire for his whole career.

It would not make a difference to me. I'm not even some Jones superfan, but even an idiot could see people were looking for reasons to hate Jones long before he ever got into any trouble. I just want the guy to cash in and retire rich. That is what really pisses a lot of people off about fighters. Not just the money, but the freedom it buy. They do not call it 'Fuck you money' for nothing.

I think that's likely to happen. There aren't many threats at LHW or HW aside from those mentioned here, and i'd add Gus since he went toe-to-toe with Jones in their first fight.

I picked Rumble because that may be the last intriguing opponent to match up with Jones at 205...

Jones isn't going to be at 200, he probably doesn't give a shit, he only cares about taking what is rightfully his, and the icing on the cake is that he can do it while beating the shit out of DC, for realz this time cuz this is the first time he actually gives a fuck.

He was dominating on pure talent and god given, HOLY SHIT 84" WTF kind of monster roll a dice did momma Jones vag produce?

Add in Hard work, training and weight lifting and you can just roll DC into a grave, cuz you ain't putting his rotund ass on no stretcher.

Very true. No one with any common sense sees Jones as invincible. It's my opinion a second fight with Gus would go much differently in Jones' favor, but Rumble could actually go for broke and KO Jones. Jones at HW would win some, lose some.
