I like Anik. Fuck the haters. Guy loves the sport. Didn’t he leave a good job covering mainstream sports at ESPN or Fox or something to come cover MMA?

Hating on his voice is one thing but if you listened to his podcast you'd know it's genuine, not fake enthusiasm. The guy is a zillion times more knowledgeable about mma than Goldberg was.

Using Goldberg as a standard is not a good move

I was put off Anik when, before JDS vs Cain, he was hyping up JDS BJJ skills based on how he "submitted Mirko Crocop".

I'll try to explain at least for myself. It just sounds like hes on script 100% of the time and felt that he sounds monotone. Just hearing the first 10 seconds of this video though made me think i might be being too harsh. Just seeing someone smile, laugh show some kind of emotion even if its swearing helps.

I don't rate Anik. He's wooden and dull. He has improved slightly over the past few years though. Him swearing doesn't add any colour. There are lots of good commentators who keep it clean so that's not the issue at all.

At least he is easy to tune out during calls.
