Guy is 145 champ and took a chance at higher weight class

Got beat badly

Props for stepping in and for the effort in trying to finish early. Gave us fans one of the best fights ever (2016 FOTY IMHO)

Now he´s ducking a rematch on a higher weight class with a nightmare matchup for him, who already established an alpha position over him even in the prefight trashtalk

Does not sound crazy to duck IMO. He should stick to 145 were he belongs (as said in the post fight presser at UFC196 before all this fake rematch drama was set up). I think he could still make big waves there

Thoughts?

ducking you say?

You can't just pull out of events that get scheduled, he is a fighter so he should fight

You're gonna get flamed for saying he's ducking but it could be true.

I don't think Conor is right on skipping media day, but I also don't think he's ducking Nate. After all, he was the one begging for a rematch in the first place.

Conor might be a prick every now and then, but he's not a pussy.

that rematch was never really scheduled.. it was never suposed to happen

it was "booked" only to make it look as if conor wanted it LOL

It just saves another L on his record.

Nothing wrong with pulling out of the supposed biggest UFC event? The one that you're headlining? hmmmmm
Yeah, I disagree

Best fights of 2016... in March ?

Sorry bro. That was not even the best fight that night. Let alone all of '16... Which is only a 1/3 finished.

You nailed part of it, though.

There are a lot of things wrong, starting with Conor getting bumped over Edgar for the shot at Aldo because of the Dennis Siver snuff film.

LOL no..

at the post fight presser he said he wanted to defend at 145

he never asked for it

it was "booked" to keep the hype up (if he didn´t ask for it, fanboys would be let down)

so difficult to understand?

UFC not even talking about fining him for this as he failed contract obligations

Who believed this teenage drama for retadrs?

FOTY you say ??? have you watched any other fights then Conor's

I think it's smart from a business perspective. You have to protect your brand at the end of the day. It would be wise for Conor to not face guys like Nate and Frankie. I don't doubt Conor's skills against strikers, especially ones who are smaller than him. I cannot though, in good faith, think that Conor can stand a chance against a guy with amazing takedowns and a fantastic ground game.

Not true, I was told by sherdog that conor was a nightmare match for nate and nate was tailor made for conor. Head clean off In the first, and a bunch of stuff about speed and precision etc. you're wrong TS

Quicktap McDucker and the UFC just doing what's in their best interest. I cannot blame them for protecting their cash cow, so they can milk him for some more $$$, rather than butchering him early by having a Diaz rematch.
