JWP says he will definitely be retiring as he needs a hip replacement. Makes you wonder how he was able to have a KB fight in August. Surely roundkicks must have being painful to throw. Just think of the rapid hip rotation.

[email protected] Mundine being called a "legend".

The only thing legendary about that dosser was getting KTFO by feather fisted Ottke.

He's apparently a legend in Australia, but if u think about it the man was a pro rugby player(highest paid one in australia too) and randomly out of nowhere becomes a pro boxer at late age of 25 to defending world championships in 2 weight classes. That's pretty damn impressive if u ask me, though I wouldnt rank him as an atg in boxing but still, i get where the fandom comes from.

Is Mundine the guy who said that the 9/11 victims got what they deserved?

Yeah, amongst many others controversial things. His anti gays comments in lead up to same sex marriage vote in Australia was front page.

I'm always happy to see John Wayne Parr win, and I'm also always happy to see Anthony Mundine lose. All is well.

He's a bum and a scumbag for the things he has said. Just stating facts.

Mundine fights were huge national sporting events for over a decade. He was also a very good boxer in his prime. Lost a close decision to a prime Kessler, and could have beaten him if he was more active.

Not a huge boxing fan but I am a huge JWP fan.
Also I hate Choc, like any sensible Australian. The only reason to respect Choc is that he has done a lot for Aboriginal sportsmen and women. Every other aspect of his personality is a bit horrid.
Just watched the fight. It was fun from start to finish. Pretty classic Boxer vs. Non boxer stylistic matchup, with JWP brawling and Choc being elusive and accurate in spurts. Some beautiful uppercuts.
I was really impressed with JWP's conditioning. Guy is 44, has significant fight mileage and injuries under his belt, and also was traditionally a MT fighters (3 or 5 rounds, 3 minutes only) and he still threw leather hard for 30 minutes whilst gett copped with decent shots in return (especially some nasty uppercuts from Choc).

If you wanna see how great a guy JWP is, check out this long chat he has with Whittaker and Fab a month back.
