I didn't agree with nearly all of his views, but he was a patriot and much better than conservatives in office now.

Great man and a true patriot.

As a POW the Vietcong offered to release him because his dad was an admiral and they liked the optics.

He refused to be released without his fellow soldiers.

They broke his arms multiple times and as a result he couldn't raise his arms above his shoulders, couldn't comb his own hair.

i felt like he was a sincere person, as politicians go. he got a little wild while running for president, because he probably thought he had to. as a senator, while i didnt agree with all of his views, he seemed very reasonable.

i wish we had more like him.

    American hero.

He enraged me, sometimes, but that's democracy. I always felt he had America's best interests at heart; even if on occasion I felt those Americans were narrowed to his constituency, and their industrial jobs (i.e. Lockheed Martin). That's how it's supposed to work. That is who he is supposed to be serving.

True maverick with the spine of a lion. People call him a warmonger, but he never consigned an American soldier to a mission that's worst outcome he didn't personally understand. I wish we had more like him.

I disagreed with many of his decisions, but he would have been a great ally of Brazil ( he had a good relationship with the brazilian people). If president.
He was also a target of very low accusations from the right ( saying that his adopted daughter was th result of an affair was as low as it can be, targetting innocent children) and very unfairly treated by the left .

Rip. Whether or not you agreed with him politically you gotta respect what he went through. Not many men like that in the world anymore.

He was a warmonger, statist, tyrant. But I don't rejoice in the death of anyone, even evil people.

I pray for his soul but his life was that of a tyrant and agent of chaos. Don't think I'll be grieving much.
