John Malkovich, among the greats? Yay or nay?

Always loved this dude, just think he has a great screen presence. Saw Mile 22 today, and he's in it, not bad but he does have some good stuff on his resume

Anyone else a fan? If a fan, what do you consider his best performances?

He's good when he's on his game, but I don't think clips from Of Mice and Men are going to help your case.

Great actor but past his prime.

He's chosen some shitty movies over the last 15 years or so

I liked him in Rounders and Con Air, but I wouldn’t say he’s one of the greats.

I put Malkovich in the same category as James Woods or Gary Sinise. Underrated, kinda under-used actors who occasionally come in & knock a role out of the park.

Favorite Malky roles have to be his amazing villain in In The Line Of Fire, and his charismatic lech in Dangerous Liaisons.

I love most of his stuff. Favourite performance was In the line of fire.

Really cracked me up in Red 2...

Well despite the shit talked about mice and men in this thread, I actually liked him in that movie.

In the line of fire was great.

And the coup de gras was in being John malkovich. Great performance.

I watched him in "red" with Bruce Willis and was sad to see him mailing it in with some shitty script like that.

He's really fallen off the radar of late.

Solid actor but has never amazed me in anything.

It's a great book, but I think Malkovich bit off a bit more than he could chew with that role at that time.
