Ruffy called him out but he wanted it to be a fight night main event, BSD and the UFC both would like to keep the fight at 315 cause the PPV needs it and BSD gets to fight for a mostly french crowd so Rebecki should get the shot.

Tought stylistic change for BSD. Joel was a super tall thai striker with great bjj and shit TDD. Rebecki is a short meatball of muscle who punches hard, has good wrestling, and he's southpaw.

I think they are considering giving Sadiq Yousuff the fight he is scheduled for the week after in APEX and is close enough to BSD ranking to make it interesting.

Marion Santos could be getting a replacement as well for the 17th. Kill 2 birds with one stone

Remember when the UFC would go after top guys from other orgs? Then bring them to the UFC... and they would arrive and fans would anticipate how they would do with "UFC level competition"

Would Chris Leben send them back to Japan where the competition is easier??!

(And Will Brooks but he did not swim when placed in the shark tank)

Tons of big stars came from Strikeforce, WEC, PrideFC, even some guys from Superbrawl aka Icon Sport... some blond kid from Cage Warriors.

Izzy and Alex Pereira had success in Kickboxing that made us wonder if they could translate it to mma. That was fun.

Jiri was a Rizin champ with some pretty big wins like Nemkov and (I think) and CB Dollaway an 1-1 vs King Mo.

You've probably noticed how over the years, the competition has been eaten alive more and more outside the UFC. The pool of great fighters outside gets smaller. Each time the UFC feeds from outer orgs, the next pickings get shorter. Probably the most exciting was Pride fighters crossing over, then Strike force. We're down bad there's PFL, One, and K1 left. But I agree, just wish there was more to shake up the divisions.
