    A History of Errors

Solis made his debut as a UFC judge at UFC Fight Night: Swanson vs. Stephens in 2014. That night, Solis was on the judging panel for four bouts that went the distance. Aside from Ricardo Lamas’ unanimous decision over Hacran Dias, he was in the minority for all decisions when compared with those from media outlets.

Solis returned to UFC action in 2017 at UFC Fight Night: Bermudez vs. Korean Zombie and once again offered baffling scorecards. The first of these came in a bout between Ricardo Ramos and Michinori Tanaka. While Solis’ decision to give “Carcacinha” the victory over Tanaka echoed the consensus from fans and media members, his decision to award Ramos a 30-27 nod and score the final round in favor of the Brazilian was ludicrous.

    . . .

Solis and JJ Ferraro determined the Swiss deserved the victory in yet another dreadful decision.

Joe Solis has now judged ten fights for the UFC, and aside from two blatantly obvious decisions in favor of Lamas and Joe Benavidez (against Ali Bagautinov), all of Solis’ scorecards have drawn criticism.

    Cont...

In what other profession could you fuck up 80% of the time and still keep your job?

What kind of dirt does this man have on the commission to still be able to judge fights

Baseball is the other example I thought of, but even then hitting .200 you'd better be a damned good fielder.

LOL this guy is getting burned.

    Good.

There's too many experts who could take his place out there, why bother educating him? He couldn't be bothered to educate himself before costing fighters their win money/championship belts, so fuck 'em.

    Give him the boot.

When a judge is in the minority so often, the commission needs to ask why. Of course people see things differently, but in most cases judges should see things in a pretty similar way. This guy really needs to be re-educated or let go.

How the hell does a guy like that end up judging main card fights and even main events?

    So much corruption.

For fuck's sake people, it's not like scoring an extra round for Jon made any effing difference anyway.

A .200 batting average and 35 homeruns is someone you keep on roster. Well, owners do. I'd have him in batting camp to at least fail only 70% of the time.

It's not even a very bad scorecard.

Some other fights in the past, sure maybe. But this scorecard was just fine. Jones won 3 rounds clearly but you could've arguably given him a 4th round as well. So no problem at all.

20 years doing criminal investigation in a Pacific Rim megalopolis well-known to the UFC has taught me a couple of things.

Idle speculation is wonderfully diverting, but in your post, you are naming a name and looking into a background. May I kindly suggest that this is a topic that you might be better off losing interest in now?
