Joe Scarborough: Independent Conservative Evan McMullin will announce candidacy for president.

Have any of you checked this guy out? He's not on the ballot in every state, but I agree with a lot of his platform and as a bonus, he's not a psycho.

"Its time for a new generation of leadership"
"The American people want new ideas & new leadership"

<{hughesimpress}>
More empty slogans.

This is more grass roots, independent rhetoric, with no teeth.

"If you wanted a better example of two broken candidates from two broken national parties offering nothing of value to our country, this was your week.

Absolutely nothing about the debate at Hofstra looked beyond the pointless, petty gotcha games that define too much of our media coverage in this election, with Trump fans declaring total victory, and Hillary fans doing the same. The debate and its ugly aftermath dragged us away from real ideas, real issues, and real debate, leaving us feeling dirty rather than enlightened.

What more needs be said about Donald Trump's antic, ugly performance? Dangerously unready, psychologically unhinged, and ideologically in more agreement with Hillary Clinton than with the party he hijacked, he reminded millions of Americans that instability, cruelty, and ignorance are the characteristics of third-world authoritarians, not American Presidents.

Clinton was ruthlessly prepared, with a politician's canned lines and media-bait zingers. As always, she ducked accountability for anything, ever. When she did touch on policy, it was the kind of focus-grouped word goo designed to sound great without talking about the realities, consequences and price-tags of a centralized big-government nanny state that would leave Barack Obama's reckless government expansion in the dust.

A few days later, what have we learned? What big idea did you take away from the debate? Was there anything that helped Americans think about and talk about where we're going as a nation? Can you remember a single moment where either Clinton or Trump gave you an honest insight or a real plan to make this country more prosperous and secure?

That's why the real debate isn't just about two tired, 70-year-old politicians fighting on stage like a couple of Japanese movie monsters.

The real debate is what kind of country we want, and what kind of leadership we deserve.

Evan McMullin isn't running to sell you nights in his hotel chain, steaks, or a reality TV show. He's not running to climb one more rung on the DC power ladder.

Evan is asking for your support and your vote because his experience, leadership, and his vision for a better, more unified, more secure nation is about lifting us up, not tearing us down.

He's a real conservative, with a belief in America's unlimited potential, a reverence for our Constitution and the rule of law. It's why Republicans, Independents, and Democrats have been drawn to his message and this campaign. Unlike Clinton and Trump, Evan McMullin is offering America a Commander-In-Chief who puts the country before himself.

And about that, there's no debate."

Well, I read over the site and no new ideas were found, but his "independence" as he says is conservitive leaning, and again, offers no new ideas.

He does however juxtapose himself to the two horrible candidates a lot.
It seems that's his entire platform.

Tripe is peasant bait.

How is he going to get on the ballot for all 50 States in a few weeks?

McMullin only needs to block Dumb and Dumber from getting to 270 electoral votes... and he may be able to do that by just winning Utah.

It's a long-shot, but it is possible.

If no candidate reaches 270 electoral votes, then the election goes to the House of Representative (which is a Republican majority). Once in the House of Reps, it becomes a 3-way race between the top 3 vote-getters (Trump, Clinton, McMullin)... and each state gets one vote.

McMullin is well-liked and respected in Congress; he was the chief policy director of the House Republican Conference. Trump is a loon with lots of enemies.

He seems to be very satisfied in poll results that show he's losing.

That's hilarious...in a narcissistic way

Only #NeverTrumpers are voting for this guy, good luck knowing you took the moral high ground against Trump when Hillary grants amnesty and controls the Supreme Court for 30 years. Once Democrats control Texas, Republicans will never win another election in this country again...hey but #Nevertrump right?

Pro Life, but not against same-sex marriage
Religious, but not unreasonable
Republican, but not racist

Never Dumb and Dumber >

McMullin may be Conservative, but he actually seems reasonable.

That's your criteria????

That's the majority of conservatives.

You have to be a complete and utter liberal shill to believe that being a Republican means you have to hate gays and blacks.

I don't think he wins Utah, but it could be close. Would be first non democratic or republican to win a state since 1968.

Great. Now I'm craving a McMuffin and it's too late to buy one.
