Joe Rogan Believes That Cutting Weight For Fights Is Cheating:

http://www.bjpenn.com/joe-rogan-believes-that-cutting-weight-for-fights-is-cheating/

Rogan's latest pseudo-scientific screed. Is there ANYONE one here that actually agrees?

Smoke some herb and chill out Joe

PS : Your fucking AV hahaha Fran Stalinovskovichdavidovitchsky <3

He actually had some pretty reasonable thoughts in there. Cheating isn't the right word to use I don't think, but he made good points about the dangers of weight cutting and possible ways to put a stop to some of the crazier cuts (like weight limits 6, 4 and 2 weeks out from the fight and so on).

Is this a Fedor is GOAT thread? I agree.

It's true if you outweigh your opponent by more than 5% it's cheating. Equation of weight and gravity dictates it. :icon_chee MMAth to the rescue once again.

It's a very negative factor of fight sports. I understand where he is coming from because one fighter wants to be PHYSICALLY BIGGER than another fighter in a designated weight class. The weight class is designed to ensue everyone is around the same weight; By trying to be the bigger fighter you are inherently wanting to fight a smaller fighter. Virtually every fighter is 20lb heavier than their division in most cases. Even the BW's are pretty damn big for their height.

Weight cutting is dangerous, there’s a reason they weigh in the day before the fight; it gives them a chance to rehydrate. It’s crazy. Let’s call it what it is. It’s kind of cheating, but it’s cheating that everybody does. You’re allowing someone to pretend they’re 155 pounds. Motherf—er, you’re not 155 pounds!

In my opinion (which doesn't matter of course) is that it's the same as putting your hand on the mat to prevent a knee to the head. It's not really cheating its just playing the system to your advantage.

It creates an unfair advantage in most divisions. Guys are relying on their size advantage more so than there actual skills. Same day weigh-ins make the most sense, but obviously athletic commissions are too lazy to implement smart rules.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it cheating, but I find it dishonest? to prove yourself against people smaller and weaker than you are.

Yet another MMA personality that Tommy Toe Hold has ruined on me lol. I can't read that without imagining the TTH version of Rogan shouting it's crazy.

TJ Dillashaw is the worst. Every time I see him I imagine him saying "I am a Fire man"

Yes i agree. Some people cut weight better than others and it just CANT be trained. Thats why i agree. If you have WEIGHTCLASSES and people actually weigh differently then it isnt right.

Lol. Tommy has done similar things to me.

His Sonnen is the Devil that pops up on my shoulder, telling me to do bad things.

I've had Stone Cold Stipe stuck in my head for awhile.

I agree. First time ever I agree with Rogan.
Weigh-ins should be right before fighting.
