Just want to get this out there, I know I might be beating the horse here a lot but I think that in the fight game this is something that is very important. Joe Rogan said, "We have never seen Conor overcome adversity".

This is very true, now why is this such a big thing, well for one this is the last stop before a fighter ever looses a fight. If you can not overcome adversity you loose but also in Conor's case you can not be a successful champion. Lets not even mention GOAT. It also signifies you are easy to break, once your game plan is not going according you panic and want a way out.

Is clear Conor does not like to be in wars, he wants to have an Anderson Silva like highlight reel but without the struggles. He likes to walk into the cage, throw his left hand and hope that it hits so that maybe it can knock you out. Even in the presser he talked about how now he needs to change his plan when fighting people that can take his punch. Like are you serious Conor, you expect everyone to just fall in one punch.

If there is one characteristics all the greats have is that they have overcome adversity remember that. Does not matter how pretty you look or move(cough Sage) if you have no heart you will be average in the fight game.

Here is a prime example of why overcoming adversity is critical, it breeds great athletes. Take note Conor

What I feel it comes down to is Conor is a bully. When he can't bully his opponent he panics. He also doesn't have a well rounded enough game to conquer all adversity or be the GOAT.

So when Chad took him down that wasn't adversity?

This. Chad was winning the first round and 2nd round, McGregor came back to win. That was adversity.

McGregor against Diaz looked heavy, looked like he hadn't fought that heavy before and lacked speed and cardio for that weight class

This. He also tore his knee against Holloway and managed to adopt his gameplan on the fly to compensate. Stop trying to psychoanalyze everyone so simplistically TS

I thought he did in the Mendes fight.

He did kind of beg to be stood up tho

Looks like he has new adversity since he in fact went for the take down to avoid the KO. I like Conor but love me some Diaz. Saw it live. Excellent

Except he overcame adversity in the Mendes and Holloway fights.

Mendes was one kind of adversity, but this was another.

With mendes,he had the belief that if he got back to his feet he can kill this guy. Against nate he hit him with everything he could, but Nate didnt go down. THAT is when he panicked. He wasnt used to that. This could serve to make him a better, more dynamic fighter in the future though.

joe went into that fight with an agenda imo. conor was starching nate early in the first and all joe was talking about was nate. it worked out for him though. nate got better as the fight went on.

I don't think it was a case of him not being able to handle adversity, but rather that he has a reliance on his physical tools a lot more than he wants people to believe. He coined the phrase "precision beats power and timing beats speed", but when power and speed were no longer there for him, his "precision and timing" weren't either. Needs to return to 145.

No, sherdogers told me McFlinsher won the first round against Chad.

it would have been if they were the same size

but conor is huge compared to chad and was always going to finish him if the fight stayed standing for any length of time

disagree. not a conor fan and knew this day would come, but the guy has heart. mendes was beating the hell out of him, and he came back.

Joe Rogan also said many things that weren't true about Ronda Rousey.

I don't think I want to listen to him anymore.

Bs, Chad was totally out of shape. Would have destroyed if fight camp.

He is done.

AHA HA HA The Conor fans saying he overcame adversity in the Mendes fight when before tonight you all acted like he steamrolled Chad. With a full camp, Mendes WRECKS Conor. Clay Guida wrecks Connor with a full camp too.

This is very true ...

Nope, Mendes put him through the ringer on the ground and Conor acted as if it was water off a duck's back.
