Joe Rogan on Bellator's name: "It's a goofy name."

Joe Rogan thinks that Bellator should change their name because it's goofy. He also said that, "They should call it Spike TV MMA." What are your thoughts?

People still can't get used to the Bellator name lol. Anyways, would be really dumb to change the name into "Spike TV MMA" even that just sounds shitty. Bellator will be fine, without a name change, a lot of people recognize the Bellator brand so it would be kinda dumb to throw it away.
 
spike tv mma is goofy. Bellator is original. Not this (random letter/name)FC
 
I like Bellator.


It means "Warrior" or "Soldier" or something like that in Latin.
 
Bellator is infinitely better than "The Ultimate Fighting Championship".

Fuck all of these cookie cutter organisation names. It's all so generic.

Bellator is an actual word, with actual meaning. It's succinct, and to the point.

If you're too stupid to know what it means, then fuck you.

bellator is neither here nor there--if you polled non-mma fans none would have the slightest idea what kind of company or event would be associated with a name like that.

spike tv mma is too much.

that sort of obscure foreign-language name works for zuffa as the parent org. owning the ufc but it doesn't really help bellator to market their product or brand, especially since it is a second-tier player. nowadays no one needs to hear "Ultimate Fighting Championship" to "get" what "UFC" means.

Spike MMA is ok. Bellator is ok. Both names don't really stand out. Rizin actually sounds kinda cool in their defense.
 
I have never had an issue with it. The only idea I like is Spike MMA. But really Bellator is fine. Never had an issue with it. But seems like the name is disliked by a decent amount of people.

Way too late to change anything now.

Everybody was criticising Rizin's name when it came out. I like it more everyday.
UFC is not a very good name, Bellator is not bad, ONE is cool, M-1 doesn't say much to me it's like a bad copy of K-1, Jungle fights its bad, PRIDE was an awesome name, KSW i don't even know what it means nor do i care, Strikeforce nothing special, Pancrase is a weird name imo, Metamoris sounds cool... i don't remember more orgs at this moment.

Edit: i remembered Glory (awesome name), WSOF (not bad), ROAD (weird name imo)
 
I honestly never thought twice about the name Bellator. It's just a name. I guess it isn't pleasing to some people, but what name is?

I like it as well and didn't get the criticism. Maybe it's because English is a second language for me.
 
Bellator is a goofy name, but Spike TV MMA is even worse.
 
Spike TV MMA sucks, but Spike MMA would be good.

They should call it NFL for National Fighting League. (corny joke)
 
Spike MMA would be good, Bellator MMA isnt bad but its not very good. Its not awful like OneChampionship.

I doubt that since in Spanish the word "Bella" in Bella-tor means beautiful like when referring to a woman. Same applies to the meaning of bella in Italian, and bellator will be holding an event there next year lol.

Bella you would use when referring to a female, while Bello when referring to a male.
 
I like Spike TV MMA tbh, Bellator is a pretty lame name, but its probably way to late to rebrand it

Spike TV MMA is a better description of what the company is, not sure it's a good name. Bellator isn't great I guess but UFC's name is silly when you spell it out. Good for them for emphasizing the abbreviation so much.
