Looks like he is fed up with being labeled alt-right.

I've been reading a lot of recent "Rogan is the gateway to the red pill" or "Rogan is the gateway to the alt-rt" sentiment. Or "I lost respect for my coworker when I saw him watching Joe Rogan videos on youtube".

One of the things he gets attacked for these days is being very against biological males competing in women sports. ie -Fallon Fox. I've seen people online outraged by his comments on this issue.

He says he is left and almost a socialist:

Good for him. It's been eye-opening to see how the mainstream press and "watchdogs" have treated Joe. It's fucking despicable.

he definitely has lots of right leaning opinions as well, i would say from watching him he comes off as more right leaning than left. But I think thats the way most people are, not right down the line either way. But for some reason if you have a handful of opinions that the extreme doesnt like, youre the bad guy.

Yeah, but he tells offensive jokes and only believes in two genders.

Literally Hitler.

I had no idea that people thought he was alt right. I always thought he was pretty centered myself.

Anyone that doesn't agree with the extreme left is a fascist bigot alt-right cis scum and must be shut down.

No Nazis, No KKK, No Fascist USA!

He’s seem left right center depending on what’s being discussed.

Anyone who is 100% left right center is partisan hack.

How is asking for testosterone levels to be tested prior to competition, an alt-right stance?

Hell... My son's wrestling team tested him for steroids and recreational drugs so if it is normal to test for that then why not testosterone.

I get what he is saying, and anyone that is calling him right wing is just factually wrong. The issue is he is platforming a lot of sketchy people which helps them reach a massive audience they usually wouldnt be capable of elsewhere. I also think he is being manipulated by those IDW goons to boost their own profiles.

his hearts in the right place, but he needs to be more aware of who he is platforming and to challenge their ideas if they are controversial

I don't think that's a remotely honest representation of the push back against him. The push back is because he gives a platform to, and serves as a conduit for, charlatans and propagandists that are most often (not always) from the political right.

With that said, I would disagree that he's a "far right influencer," and I've said several times that I actually appreciate Rogan's open-mindedness and willingness to admit his own ignorance and areas of lacking. He doesn't pretend to be an expert or even especially scrutinizing. However, that virtue cuts both ways, as he doesn't really call out his guests when they are dishonest or inaccurate.

Ultimately, I don't think the media (whatever the "media" is) necessarily needs or benefits from having someone like Rogan, but I sure as shit wish that more regular people and voters were like him.

I'm curious on what basis he's labelled right wing. Anyone who thinks so care to back up that claim?

It's a recurring pattern.

Be it Joe Rogan, pewdiepie, Jordan Peterson etc. If the loony left wants to attack someone who shares no views with the alt-right and actively speaks out against them, they say he's a "gateway" to the alt-right. They're then instantly held accountable for any actions/opinions of anyone who listens to their content.

He's far right because he doesn't shut people out, and join the censorship brigade on conservative speech? What a monster.

And no, I don't think most calling him far right get all that deep about. What happens is he says some things that triggers the far left(like the two gender thing), so they work to silence him. That's how they operate.

I don't listen to Joe that much. Other than Alex Jones, who has Rogan had on who are legit alt-right?

I'm afraid the answer is going to be Jordan Peterson...

Holding a podcast that accepts people from all sides to give their view on subjects would've classified someone as being left wing at one time.

Some people on the left are now triggered by it.

As far as his own views, not sure how he could be labelled as far anything

There's a difference between "conservative speech" and people like Alex Jones. Or at least there used to be. And it's not a matter of censoring or shutting people out: it's a matter of giving them a platform sans scrutiny. Even for people less ridiculous than Alex Jones, like Jordan Peterson, it should (arguably) be the responsibility of the interviewer to vet the guest's claims, familiarize themselves with the subject matter, and be prepared to at least earmark disputable claims, instead of just saying "yeah, yeah, you know I guess that does make a lot of sense."

This "Rogan is a gateway" bullshit isn't doing any favors to democrats.

It makes you look like a god damn -tin foil hat- fool.
