Listen to 3:35 Joe Rogan says that the UFC is swallowing boxing and that after Jermain Taylor and Oscar De La Hoya retires then there will be no new boxing stars because they're all going to fight in the UFC for jellybeans instead

Here he is 5 years later talking about these 2 new UFC superstars called Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather that joined the UFC because they knew they had no future in boxing because it was being swallowed.

Not only is the UFC not swallowing boxing, but Boxing is actually swallowing the UFC, long time sherdog users know that sherdog never covered boxing until recently, you don't see boxing websites covering the UFC.

if you look at google trends, the UFC peaked during Brock Lesnar (a none MMA created star) and now that he has left the UFC, it has back down in popularity and is back to its 2008 popularity with only 31 points

Now tell me which one looks more healthy in 2015?

Meh, 2015 is set to be ether the biggest year in UFC PPV's or the 2nd biggest

Considering Mcgregor/Aldo and another Ronda fight are coming up, it's doing ok

Now factor in UFC fight night, UFC on fox and TUF for regular TV ratings

I wouldn't speak about UFC's tv ratings the're beyond horrible

He actually rationalized what he said in that vid in a recent podcast of his. He said he never really thought boxing was dying, rather he wanted to troll Lou DiBella because he was douchey in that interview.

Anyways I really like his podcast but that has been waning as of late with the drop of quality. Rogan says a lot of outlandish things but he also admits he is mistaken lots of times.

Yeah, you're trolling but I'll humor you anyhow.

My first love is boxing. Still love it. Best of boxing > Best of MMA.

Example for me: GGG vs. Lemieux > Wiedman vs. Rockhold.

However, average MMA > average boxing.

Example for me: Mir vs. Arlovski > Tarver vs. Cunningham

Anyhow, by the chart, both look like they are doing fine to me. With boxing doing slightly better.

I hope both continue to do well and put on great fights.

Man Joe ripped him a new one. Made him look ignorent. Joe is right BTW.

i far prefer mma, but this post will be the best in this weak thread, regardless of what sport someone prefers. i dont understand the point of trying to compare/compete the 2 sports.

you dont see football/basketball doing it to the same extent in any way, reeks of insecurity on both sides.

i wouldnt want either to fade, but both to do better, always.

Boxing is one of the most corrupt sports out there, hopefully MMA doesnt follow it in that respect.

So new account huh...
