He cites economic despair, homelessness, traffic, high crime, and a political environment that inhibits freedom as his main reasons.

You can't really blame him. It's a beautiful state that was utterly destroyed by the politicians running it. You have people with good paying jobs living in their cars because they can't afford a place to live. You have criminals running rampant because all they get is a slap on the wrist.

A few years back I was offered a job in California for a 50% pay raise over what I'm making in the midwest. Then I looked at the cost of living and it was a huge pay cut. And the house I'm living in now would have cost a million dollars out there.

So the summary of this posting is - screw California. Joe Rogan can see it.

As a Texan, I'm starting to have this attitude towards Californian transplants.

As someone who moved to Texas (not from California), Texas has a unique charm that I've adopted more and more. It's actually closer to becoming a purple state, so it's good to see both sides. I just hope the Californians that move here would adapt to Texas rather than changing it to be more like California.
