Joe Martinez should replace Bruce Buffer

Joe Martinez aka the WEC announcer.

Martinez announced the event last night and did a great job. He has a loud, booming radio voice. Buffer sounds like a raspy old man who's drunk and struggling to yell at his TV. I've always liked Joe Martinez, he gets the crowd pumped up. I think he would be perfect for the job. Bruce Buffer gets more cringe worthy over time.

As bad as Buffer is, he seems to have loyal fans.

Did you guys like Martinez as announcer last night?

I think he should replace Bruce full time.

I agree, was thinking exactly the same. Better voice and Bruce Buffer seems to think the show is about him.

Stann as commentator and Martinez as announcer always pls. I like Florian better than Rogan, but he's still annoying. as for Jon Aniks spot... i guess Goldie is kinda funny, i don't need the statistics anyway.

It seems like they are moving towards this. International shows, lots of different commentary teams, etc.

I'd certainly like to see more Joe Martinez. I absolutely loved the WEC, so I may be biased...

I think people only like Bruce 'the Frank Stallone of Announcing' Buffer because he's been around so long by now there's a kind of Stockholm Syndrome thing going on. Otherwise I just don't get it.

When he finally leaves and they get some actual announcers (not some bum who was only hired because of his brother) the presentation of the product will be so much better. As we get a glimpse of now and then at these smaller & some international card sometimes.

Then again I wish they'd hire G-Man Goins for another card so there's that

If Buffer is 'the voice of MMA' while Martinez represents boxing I guess boxing fans right when they say theirs is a real sport with discipline and history while MMA is just a bunch of bums swinging at each other.

Martinez is a good replacement, that other guy who used to do Strikeforce etc was good too but more subdued.
