Joe Biden as President - Affordable Health Care?

bro, I've been in favor of UHC since the beginning, that's been one thing that I hope democrats can do (failed bigly with obama), doesnt mean I support their insanity immigration/green policies. Health care costs me at least $10,000 each year, and it costs my employer 7000..... I'de like that to go away.

Private health care was not always bad in this country, Bush let it go insane, and obama didnt help stop. Any method that slashes my expenditure is a win for me, I've been to UHC countries, would GLADLY take it over american health care. The crony capitalists are having a field day with biden as the projected winner.

Why do you oppose green policies?

Maybe it’s because I’m Canadian but why is something like universal healthcare such a hot button issue in the US? Don’t all citizens feel like it’s a basic right?

The common US conservative voter feels it’s unfair to insurance companies and their profit margins.

Also shit trickles down or something.
It is known.......or claimed.

Hell, Mitch can refuse to even vote on anything.

It’d be funny if one or two Supreme Court justices retire and Mitch keeps the nominations pending for 4 years because.

The mid term Senate race is more favorable to the Dems, so maybe only 2 years.

If Biden wins I'm 100% sure there will be a bunch of rheeeee about the debt and a debt ceiling battle looms, though. Can't let America pay the bills under a democrat without hurting the poor first.

because I live in california, and have had appliances ruined by constant blackouts? Oh yeah, not having power in the middle of a work day is sorta unproductive.... ever increasing price of electric sucks too, yeah, my pocketbook has been hurt. I dont favor throwing money at bullshit when I'm on the hook for it. I dont mind green products, I do mind shitty science. Working with wind rather than nuclear is shitty politics. I had an electric car, have a plug in, and pre-ordered another electric car (tesla). These are not green policies, mandating wind to replace coal and oil is silly shitty politics.

Biden Will also be able to ease the civil unrest that is happening sporadically in the USA. People want to know they will be heard, not dominated.
The people causing all the problems probably didn't even vote. They're opportunists and they could give two shits about biden.

Biden will not come through on any of his promises, as he’ll be deemed to be suffering from dementia after about a year in office, Kamala will take over and accomplish nothing as she’ll be cleaning up after him.

And they blame it all on Trump

cleaning up? Things are going to go to shit if and when kamala takes over.

I can tell you my concerns and it’s certainly not that I’m against people having healthcare. Keep in mind no human being can be turned away from a medical emergency in the US and 90% of Americans do have healthcare of some level so it’s not like Nobody is being taken care of to some extent. If parents have jobs, they can cover their kids until they are 25. College campuses provide healthcare for students. Most any decent job provides health coverage.

as for my concerns with universal healthcare, I believe people who contribute more to society and work and have good jobs should not have to stand in the same line as people who don’t work or contribute to society and thus longer wait times, losing out on premium doctors and facilities of choice since everyone is covered the same. I think if you want to cover everyone, it shouldn’t be automatically equal to the point it brings down a person currently with good insurance to the same as a non contributing member of society. Try to sell to someone that they will pay more in taxes while getting worse coverage and see how they feel about it. This happened to me first hand when Obamacare came into play. I had my primary care physician taken away from me and had a doctor selected for me. I gave it a shot and I am not exaggerating in the least bit when I say it felt like the new practice I was sent to was a third world country compared to the place I had been visiting under my company provided health plan. I had to go through some work to get sent back to my original care provider and that was the first bad taste of Obamacare/uhc that I got to experience first hand.

also my understanding is America has the best most advanced medical practices for people with good insurance. Cancer survival rates blow most socialist countries out the water. Americans want To say on where they can go and what they can have done and they do not want to wait in a line. It’s hard to accomplish that when it’s controlled by the government and everyone is treated the same.

I don’t see a problem with people who make more money or have better insurance provided to them through work to want better coverage then the homeless junkie on the street while also not seeing their taxes increase

the bigger key is driving down costs and minimizing pharma profiteering. Those are strides trump was taking and I hope Biden does as well. Bernie was big on tackling the fact that you can drive over the border into Canada and pay a fraction of the price for a drug that we do here in America. That needs to change.

Lol, yes that’s what conservatives think of, the money being raked in by insurance companies and how they don’t want them to be hurt. Give me a single example of Americans making that argument

the only way they can make health care affordable is to lower the standards/quality of care, make it a ponzy scheme so businesses/employers will have to pay higher premiums, and/or allow people with pre-existing conditions to hurry up and die.

I didnt vote for trump for healthcare, you gotta remember that ACA is literally a gen old legislation, it was never a trump campaign to totally redo healthcare. Not really expecting a president to do more than one major reform, trump was the wall, and relations with NK, peace treaties, banning hostile countries a bonus.

Biden can work with collins, romney and potentially flip the senate. I dont see anything unconstitutional with lowering the age of medicare slowly but surely until everyone is covered. Why salvage ACA, it sucks. preexisting conditions is a boogieman, insurance CAN cover that if they choose to. There is no law that prevents it, only insurance companies. either work with insurers or get rid of them.
Actually Trump specifically said he would provide health care that would give better coverage for more people at a fraction of the costs.
He also promised this plan within a couple of weeks on multiple occasions.

Next worry I'm guessing will be the deficit?

The Dems couldn’t pass UHC when they had a super majority, they sure aren’t going to pass it now.

People need to wake up and realize the government is not coming to your rescue. Why is it so hard for people to be independent and rely on themselves.

Most people aren't medical doctors and even if they were they still would need specialists.

I really don't get this bootstraps bullshit. We all rely on the system to get medical care, so we should make it better.

If the senate didnt change, then absolutely nothing changes. Same ol covid, expensive health care. Not even going to change oil and gas.
