Joaquin Buckley has voiced support for Belal Muhammad amidst the latter’s title shot snub.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship recently announced a welterweight title clash between Colby Covington (17-3) and Leon Edwards (21-3) at UFC 296 on Dec. 16, sidelining Muhammad from his long-due crack at divisional gold.

The announcement came after months of vocal protests from elite UFC welterweights including Muhammad (23-3), who are unhappy with Covington getting the next shot at 170 pounds.

Despite having not fought in more than a year and two of his last four outings being failed title bids, UFC CEO Dana White was adamant about “Chaos” getting another shot.

UFC welterweight Buckley (16-6) has now become the latest to criticize Covington for getting a title shot instead of “Remember the Name.”

If you want to be a legitimate sporting league it’s pretty clear Belal is the more deserving of the two. If you’re looking to be closer to sports entertainment and make a quick buck, then you give it to Colby. I think we all know which way the UFC leans.

Clearly he doesn’t know much about dollars and sense.

Belal already had his shot against Leon. Had he beat Leon, he would've been the one to fight Usman. But he got owned before getting poked in his hole. No one wants to see that rematch. Colby vs Belal would be great though. Much respect to all these fighters.

What's so entertaining about Colby, though?

Guy isn't interesting as a challenger or a fighter.

It’s pretty much exclusively his persona. Unfortunately, the promotion relies heavily on casual interest and nothing draws eyes in like wanting to see somebody lose. Merited and competitive fights between top fighters sadly do not draw in that casual fanbase on their own.

I'm guessing they're just relying heavily on Colby saying dumb stuff to the media, because that's literally all he brings to the table.

That's also an element of the sport I generally skip and have little interest in lol
