Maybe I just haven't seen any threads paying respect because of all the Brock, Conor and other typical sherdog trololol threads...
But Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs Claudia Gadelha II was hands-down the best WMMA fight I have seen. It was a real championship caliber fight. It was worthy of them fighting five rounds, and I was on the edge of my seat. We saw Claudia drop Joanna, and pound on her for the first two rounds, but then Joanna came back from adversity like a champion and brought the fight to Claudia. It was amazing to watch.
Oddly enough, can't say the same about the other women's divisions. Women's bantamweight (the division that's had more time to build) is like a game of hot potato. The skill-level seems off. Ronda folds faster than Superman on laundry day when she isn't winning. Holly Holm has the grappling skills of a grappling dummy. And Miesha has more heart than brains. Then you have Cyborg who has no brain... calling for smaller fighters to come up in weight to fight her. It's outrageous.
