JKD vs KB

Amateur boxing may be scored with points but it is still trained and taught with principles of leverage and actual contact.

In point-fighting you get strongly penalized and can lose the match if your opponent gets hit 'too hard' (even if you didn't hardly move or execute the move strongly-- for instance if they run into it:rolleyes:), unlike in boxing where you are encouraged to T/KO your opponent as the clearest way to win.

The "little details" are actually very big details in real life application.

There's an equivocation here - which is a very common bit of mushy-mindedness in these discussions - between 'point fighting', as a general term, and 'pointfighting as implemented by [insert body here]'.

Evidently, it is a mindblowing leap of logic for people to de-couple the idea of 'pointfighting' and 'one touch rule' as necessary synonyms in their heads, that you could go beyond it even.

They may come off wrong ,I’m not say JKD techniques can’t be used . Jon Jones use oblique kick . GSP uses jab and shoot technique. Both found in JKD . But the philosophy is meant for self defense no rules . Like I said JKD is philosophy not a style. JunFan/JKD is a style Bruce Lee’s
Most don't know bout this but Jon Jones had spent quite a bit of time training jkd not sure how much it influence it had on his style but being that Jon Jones is a big Bruce Lee fan feel he took a bunch of stuff
