In light of Maia receiving his 4th degree bb, i asked myself the question, how good must the guy be who teaches him? And so furthermore I wanted to ask you all, if you could choose any JJ instructor in the world to train you, who would it be. Who are the greatest JJ masters alive today?

I already train under a legend.

Marcelo Garcia is probably the biggest BJJ legend who runs a large academy. I think Fabio Gurgel is the person who gave Maia his 4th degree. He is also an Alliance guy like Marcelo, coincidentally.

One of my instructors, Fabio Santos (a BJJ old-timer) was telling me that Rickson's older brother, Rolls, used to beat him soundy in sparring, all the time. He was considered the fam champion, until his untimely death in a hang gliding accident. Then Rickson took over.
