So following that subsequent UD win he had this to say:

"I almost didn't make it to the fight. I only got cleared, like, literally last week to fight. I had a bad knee injury. I tore my meniscus, and MCL and ACL as well. They told me I shouldn't fight, and I said no, I've got to fight. I can't pull out of the fight. So you know, it was a big decision for me and the team, but we had to go through with it."

How is that even possible to be cleared by by a doc?

Yeah, I'm surprised his knee has healed enough to fight again so soon.

Do you think rumble will target jimmys knees or just go for the KO?

There's no way it's healed if he was actually be truthful and tore his ACL, MCL.

Heather Jo Clark fought and beat Bec Rawlings with a torn ACL, so it can be done.

I have no idea how you go through the process of getting cleared to fight with a torn acl tho
 
Nog still gets cleared to fight and he's blind and immobile. I'm guessing it's extremely hard to not get cleared to fight.
 
Jimmy has great knees and kicks so I hope his injury doesn't affect him too much, I want to see him KO rumble
 
I'm pretty sure an MRI isn't part of the pre-gets screening. That's the only way they'd know if he didn't say anything, unless they did some extreme palpation in that specific area.
 
Mirko got cleared for Nelson fight with a torn bicep. Both Cain and JDS went into their first fight with some kind of nagging injury.

Tears have varying degrees. You also don't even need particular ligaments, especially if you have the income to fix them later (obviously better to do sooner though). So depending on the tear type and severity, a doctor could easily clear him.
 
It's not unheard of. Geagrd Mousasi beat Ilir Latifi with a torn ACL. McGregor beat Holloway after tearing his ACL in the 2nd round and supposedly went into the Mendes fight with a torn meniscus. RDA beat Pettis with a torn meniscus. Cormier beat Rumble with a bum knee.
All 3 being fucked sounds kinda crazy.
 
I remember hearing he was injured plus it was pretty obvious something was wrong during the fight. I think because the UFC is such a cuthroat business and because Manuwa can't fight in the USA because of his record, he probably feels he can't pass up on any fight opportunities. Man I just want to see the guy have a legit ko
 
If he tore his ACL there is no chance what do ever they would clear him to fight. Yes either lying or just doesn't know what he's talking about.
