Wow, in all the articles i've read i've sort of gotten the impression that he's not strong anymore. Guess that was wrong...

So if I'm getting this right...

He got bored and pretty much walked into a meet for the fuck of it and half-assed a 1760 total.

    Holy shit.

I think his best totals before were 2375. So basically he is down 500 lbs across all 3 lifts, which really isn't that bad.

First off he is RAW instead of Multi-ply. Depending on the gear, it can add a decent amount. I've seen guys add about 200 in the squat using a Leviathan or a Metal Pro Squatter, but of course you have to train for it. If you never used gear before, you aren't going to add 200.

Second, he is a lot lighter. He used to compete in the 275s, now he is 240 (I think). So you have to give him a little bit there too.

Overall, I was really impressed with the lifts. It looks like he could have gone a little heavier, but again if he was just doing it for fun, he probably didn't want to go too hard.

yeah, but watch his training vids and notice that he's hit better lifts than that meet in the gym (at least for bench, maybe also squats). honestly, i'm more impressed when i look at the numbers and realize he could smoke 99% of people in hill sprints and prowler pushes as well.

Yeah Wendler's a freak. I agree with the above, he walked in and half assed those numbers? He's probably stronger than I will ever be. Also, he doesn't neglect his conditioning.
