What the fuck?

I don't know whether to laugh or fucking cringe... jesus.

Absolutely honest question and legit not trying to bash anyone's lifestyle but how can this be claimed definitively? Like how can anyone be born with a sexual preference? It seems like the kind of thing that would be tilted in one direction or another at some early developmental stage...how can anyone be genetically engineered to just be like "wow, cocks are pretty cool" lol

I see people say this all the time but I don't know how it can be claimed definitively. It seems more like a idealized self rationalization, which I can understand because it must be a difficult question to actually answer.
That was just my opinion, I'm not at all claiming it as definitive. I just don't see it as being any different than a straight person being born straight. I'm straight, I'm only attracted to women, I was born that way, I didn't choose to like women as a lifestyle choice.

Also, there is no way in hell that I, personally, could even entertain the thought of choosing to do anything sexually with a man. I just feel that if I'm that hardwired to like women, and could not choose to be with a man, that people can be hardwired to like the same sex, and could not simply choose to be with the other sex. Again, just my opinion.

It would seem like you and I are both genetically engineered to like women. Which makes it hard for me to believe that people can't be engineered to like their same sex. Also, most openly gay people say that they knew they were "different" at a young age. It's very unlikely that every single one of them experienced sexual traumas/molestation at a young age; or at any point in their life for that matter. I also believe serial killers are born to kill serially.

I don't have any hate for gay people, and I think many are born gay as well and I believe society and other outside factors have an influence as well. Their are very high rates of sexual abuse reported among people who become strippers, pornstars, pedophiles etc. Only thing is it's way less controversial to say all that, than in it is to draw the same comparison to the lgbt community
I wouldn't disagree with any of that. Well stated, by the way.

I wonder if people can be predisposed to shit like that but then have certain events that lead them to go down that path...

But yeah I agree theres gotta be something to it. Idk how much if it is inherent or learned but I asked this same question to a gay dude a while back and he told me the fucking realest shit I ever heard, something to the effect of: "nobody would CHOOSE to be gay and disappoint their parents especially when theres so many gorgeous ass women out there".

Most compelling argument I ever heard on the topic <Lmaoo>

Well in Jimmie's case he denies being molested, but even if that were the case and he was molested that incident would still be something that led to him being gay. That's actually pretty common a lot of gay and trans people were molested when they were kids. It's unfortunate but it's not like it changes what they are
Here's the thing all those stats always leave out. A lot of straight boys were molested too. Tons and tons. And many don't talk about it or admit it, because they don't want to come off as 'gay'.

Gay men don't have that hangup (obviously), so the numbers end up skewed.

Insidious shit.

This has been shockingly civil.

Must be on wrong site.

Are Opie and Anthony still around? And does Jim Norton really only do UFC podcasts now? I always knew he was a fan and no one else on the show gave a shit about MMA

I was a HUGE fan of their radio show up until around the time Anthony went too far right conservative (and im a conservative myself), to the point where it became almost unbearable to listen to. All he would talk about was politics.

Then he eventually got fired for tweeting about some black girl so I canceled my SiriusXM subscription

What is the current state of these guys? They were the shit back in the day

Yea, that's one of the bigger selling points for me. Between disappointing their family, being bullied and ridiculed by peers and/or family throughout their life, etc. I would have to agree with that guy you spoke with, nobody would choose to put themselves through that. Also agreeing with you on it being a compelling argument. I do also agree that in some instances, people's environments, traumas, etc., can also influence things a bit.

Or you were just molested before you can remember. Or your mind blocked it out. Then you do sexual activities with other kids before you're even capable of sexual desires. Then you develop a fetish for the shame that u felt then, and that u feel now when u think about it. Then u enjoy a man in a dress taking a dump on your chest.

All kinds of fucked up. But nothing to do with homosexuality.

Everything to do with homosexuality when the man himself claims to be bisexual with many homosexual tendencies. Not all who discover they are attracted to the same sex as children, are emotionally, sexually or physically abused. My Aunt's were the first Lesbian couple married in SF in the 90's before it was legal, my Aunt says she knew she was gay since she was a child, my mother, aunt's, etc.. all agree. No child molestation, etc.. happened to her, she says most who are gay, are born like so and discover it over time, if allowed to openly.

Agreed. When it was comedy by comedians for comedians it was good shit.

Some of the best Jim Jeffries ever has come out of that show, not his standup specials or TV shows. Louis CK had some of his best moments there as well.

Norton is not bisexual, and has never said he was. Don't argue with me on this. I've been listening to him do radio for 4 hours a day since 2003.

But yes, we agree about homosexuality. It is born, not taught. You would think that is common knowledge at this point. But then you would post here.

Anthony started Compound Media, and his big move was eventually starting the AA Show with Artie Lange. But it bombed cuz Ant stinks as the host/straight man, and Artie was going through the period that led to that fuckin elephant trunk on his face. Also, Ant lost his sense of humor and self deprecation. Which is a fuckin tragedy to people who knew the show in its heyday. He's one of the funniest people who ever lived, and he's not old enough to have completely lost it the way he did.

Greggshells is re-inventing himself for his 6 listeners on a podcast people only hear when other shows play clips to make fun of him. The show carried on as Opie and Jim for a couple years, despite Opie repeatedly complaining about Jim's dark humor and saying they were never friends and saying he was just collecting a check and waiting to re-invent himself again. Then he filmed an intern taking a shit and got fired.

Jim is now the Opie on Jim and Sam with everyone's favorite conglomerated mongrel. Jim and Sam is decent, just because they don't hate each other and they try to capture the old mood of ridiculous offensive jokes about serious and topical issues. Young Rob the liar is the executive intern and young Troy Quan the party boy works the board. Little Yimmy also does UFC Unfiltered, and just played his hero Don Rickles in The Irishman. But sadly, Chip Chipperson just retired from podcasting to go on a secret comedy tour to crush fawkin homeruns all over the underground.

E-rock passed away last Christmas, succumbing to his coma after a mayonnaise overdose.

wow. just wow... its almost sad how everything ended up.

I agree, prime Anthony Cumia was up there as a stuff of legends. Leading up to when he got fired you just knew his mind was becoming too consumed by right vs. left politics. How is Compound Media doing? I imagine he can't be making a ton of money, which is especially bad considering the lifestyle he used to flaunt on-air all the time? I remember when his new podcast came out, I tried subscribing, but I never found time to watch it on my computer and couldn't be bothered to set it up on my phone when I was driving to work, so I just stopped that all-together.

Opie was a good show host, but nothing more. He was the type of guy who kept the show rolling. He needed that Jim/Anthony type of comedy to segway into and mask his lack of comedic talent. I think a combination of Opie's own social beliefs, Anthony falling off the bandwagon, and also with the fans lack of appreciation for him led to his demise/status loss.

Jim Norton is also hilarious, and I actually have been to a couple of his comedy shows in person. They were great. The entire time the fans wanted him to do Uncle Paul. I love Jimmy but even his jokes seemed to get tiresome to me, and a big dynamic of his radio humor was him and Anthony going back and forth. I'll have to look into Jim/Sam clips on youtube. Is the show still successful? I never hear about it anywhere.

And WTF happened to Artie Lang? I haven't seen him in years. Is that elephant man nose from snorting blow??

I don't know how I just forgot about all these guys over the last few years. I don't have the same long commute to work like I used to when I was younger... they literally kept me sane for many years in the car and during long road trips. I really wish they all realized they need eachother and did a reunion-type podcast or something.

The amount of money these guys made for doing a show for 4 hours in the morning a few days was week was insane. It is a shame they were all childish headcases, but like with most comedians, usually there is a mental issue behind it all that allows for such great humor
