Jesse Taylor: UFC cut me for not taking a fight on 5 days notice

Jesse "Pass The Blame' Taylor

its everybody else's fault

Right?? Real fighters shouldn’t even be given anytime to prepare for their opponents. They should just show up to the event, draw names out of a hat, and that’s who they’re fighting that night!!

hasn’t anyone seen Bloodsport or Kickboxer??

Not you apparently, since thats not what even happened in Kickboxer. But nice try

He was boring AF. Thought he got flagged for peepee fail

Have you watched his more recent fights? He was mauling guys. On his latest TUF run including the finale, he finished 3 out of 4 of his fights including both Krause and Lima.

Didn't Jamie Krause just fight on 24 hours notice? And this jabroni turned down a fight on five days notice? I would have shitcanned him myself.

Tough one.

On one hand, I do firmly believe UFC has too much power & leverage over fighters.

On the other hand, Jesse Taylor always has someone else to blame when things don't go right in his life. He's no War Machine, but along those same lines. Shit always goes wrong, and in his mind, it's never his fault.

But reality is reality. UFC does hold all the cards. He knows this. Still, if he's not ready to fight on a week's notice, turning it down may have been the right thing to do even if he knew getting cut was the consequence.

nobody gets cut for that. He got cut because he's not worth anything to the UFC if he doesn't take the fight

No, they cut you because after giving you an undeserved extra chance after you blew it bigtime the first time around, you weren't grateful enough to take any fight they offered you.

So he's supposed to take a fight he isn't ready for, make half of the money on a loss, and be grateful he got his ass beat? LOL

Didn't you just say two opposite things?

Nobody gets cut for that?
He got cut for that because if he doesn't take the fight he's not worth keeping?

he got his extra chance after the limo episode when he got subbed by Dollaway back in '08 the whole second TUF shot was just charity and he still pissed hot winning TUF 25. Then not taking a fight shot notice or not they was going to cut him win or lose.

Plenty of fighters had leverage over the UFC. Jesse Taylor is simply a charity case that overplayed his position

If a high value fighter refused the fight, he wouldn't be cut. Jesse was cut, therefore it wasn't the decision to not fight, it was his lack of value that did him in

Taylor is a mug, the UFC gave him more chances than he deserved in the first place. The very fact he ended up on that shitshow of a TUF (which should've been named 'Desperate Hasbeens' to be honest) with a few losses behind him spoke volumes. He was also incredibly boring to watch.

Taylor is the TUF GOAT. Undefeated on TUF and has more TUF victories than any other fighter.

If he didn't grow up with the Fertitas, he'd still be making 30K a year teaching boxercise and running away from the Boston Mafia.

No.... if he wasn't good at the job he wouldn't be where he is. Yes he got a chance by knowing someone... but the UFC didn't run itself, it didn't become a success with him sitting on the couch holding a title of president. You are a moron. Dana is where he is because he was smart and worked fucking hard and didn't fuck it up.

Jesse got a break by being on a show, could have been the winner and got a promotional push. But unlike Dana he pissed that chance he was lucky to get away.

Do you really believe the Fertittas just gave Dana the position and that the UFC became what is was without any effort from Dana at all? You think this all happened and Dana is where he is now out of luck? Tons of guy's have been the head of an MMA promotion. No one has had the success Dana has had. Hint... it wasn't luck
