Who else would LOVE to see this? I know most will probably say it'd be a step down for Jeremy, but I truly think Yair is ready for that next step up in competition, and I think Jeremy would be the perfect first 'big' fight for him. Could maybe even headline the next fight night in Mexico

What do you guys think? I'd take Yair personally

lol oh my god Jeremy would demolish that poor kid

I don't like that for Yair next, let's see him beat a solid top 15 guy before giving him a monster like Stephens, Barao would be a better option, an ex UFC champion on his resume would look great at this point of his career even if Barao hasn't done much lately.

Yair would get SMOKED

If Stephens lands that uppercut from hell he is sending Yair's head flying back to Mexico.

i think yair would have a good chance against

Would love to see Yair knock him out.

Wow guys.. lets not get so carried away by Jeremy Stephens.

Yes he hits hard and can take a punch.. but we are talking about the guy who lost to Swanson, Oliveira and Holloway. Its not like he is top 3 or something. He also was losing the Bermudez fight until that knee.

If Yair is the next big thing at FW... give him a veteran so we can see where he stands.

Stephens vs Guida/Ortega winner, imo

Rodriguez vs Lamas/Holloway loser

Nooooooooo

Leave yair alone, let him brutally murder a few more cans for my viewing pleasure.

None of those losses are anything to be ashamed of even bremudez is a fantastic fighter those are all legit top 10 guys.

They should build Yair up slowly, he's still young. Give him another 11-20 guy before hr gets into the top 10. Maybe the winner of Guida/T-City

Terrible fight for Rodriguez, its way too early for him. Stephens is a veteran and had fought much better competition and hits like a truck and is very durable. not a good fight for Rodriguez at this stage. I don't think Stephens would take such a step down either.

Rankings don't matter. Yair is a beast and I'd rather see them give him a shot now rather than wait. I think they wait to long with a lot of these prospects, let's not forget Jones was only 23 or 24 when he won the title. If Yair were to beat Jeremy he'd be 5-0 in the UFC

I'd probably favour Yair to win, but Stephen's is a tough match up for him and they rush guy's far too quickly. When they try to build young fighters properly like they did with TJ or Conor then it pays off long term. When they keep throwing promising young fighters to the wolves like Struve then you end up turning potential stars into gatekeepers.

Yair is 5'11" but the reach is about the same: 71 inch. Would be a nice match up. Do not really see Stephens making a run for the belt, and Yair has huge upside.
